2-2 yesterday as we lost by half a run in each of our two unders. We hit on the White Sox +1.5 runs along with the Dodgers. Plays for today posted below as it's about time we end this ridiculous split streak we are on.
Detroit Tigers -109 BEST BET
The Detroit Tigers send Max Scherzer to the mound. He is 11-6 with a 4.28 ERA this season. At home though his ERA is 3.68. This is a very big game for the Tigers as it is important to take these opening games of the home series. The Tigers have won both games that Scherzer has started this season vs Texas.
The Rangers send Colby Lewis to the mound tonight. He is 10-8 with a 4.08 ERA this season. In his one start vs Detroit he got rocked lasting only 3.1 innings. He faces a Tigers team that loves playing in their home park. Adrian Beltre is on the DL and Elvis Andrus along with Nelson Cruz are listed as probable. This is a banged up team who will run into problems tonight.
Texas are 3-14 in the last 17 meetings in Detroit.
Pittsburgh Pirates -137
Randy Wells goes for the Cubs and that is not a scary thing at all. He is 2-4 with a 6.16 ERA this season. He doesn't throw hard and tends to allow base runners at a rapid pace. This is the perfect pitcher for Pittsburgh to get back on track against.
Kevin Correia goes for the Pirates. He is 12-8 with a 4.24 ERA this season. Correia has beaten the Cubs two out of three times they have faced this season and tonight I expect that to be three of four. He is having the best season of his career and will continue to pitch well tonight.
Tampa Bay Rays -140
Ricky Romero starts for Toronto tonight and brings an 8-9 record with a 3.08 ERA to the mound with him tonight. He has pitched very well this year but always seems to get no run support. The Jays are 1-1 in his starts vs Tampa this season. The Jays have won four of five games but tonight will run into a pitcher that has owned them this season.
David Price goes for Tampa tonight. He is 9-9 with a 3.76 ERA. However, against Toronto he is virtually un-hittable. In two starts vs the Jays this year he has pitched 16.2 innings allowing four earned runs. The Rays own this team when he pitches and tonight will be no different.
Boston Red Sox -1.5 (-120)
David Huff goes for the Indians tonight making his third start of the season. He has had a solid first two outings but neither of the two are anything like pitching in Fenway Park against this lineup. The Indians lit up Lackey yesterday which is no shocker to anybody. They now face Josh Beckett with the Red Sox coming off a loss...Good luck.
Josh Beckett goes for Boston tonight and is still in my eyes as good of a big game pitcher as anybody in the game, especially when his team is coming off a loss. On the season Beckett is 9-4 with a 2.17 ERA.
