I don't understand the 2 team parlay. Seems a 2 team if bet accomplishes the same thing with a higher payout.

For example, $100 bet on two teams -110

parlay would pay $264.46

two team if bet (where you invest principal and winnings into second bet) would pay $273.55

My book allows you to vary bets on if bet, so you would bet 100 on game 1 and 190.91 on game 2.

In both cases, you need to win both games to win. In both cases, if you lose either game, the result is -100.

Am I missing something? Why would anyone do a 2 team parlay if an if bet is available.

Some books will only allow you to bet the original amount on the second game of an IF bet. So, a $100 IF bet would be $100 on the first team and only $100 on the second part.

parlay at most shops pays 2.6 to 1 meaning you net 260 on 100, but if you are getting better payouts on an if win than go that route. It is in essence the same wager.
