Please follow the rules and stay out of my thread , namely the one where I post my daily MLB Selections. It is very distractibng to read all of your worthless comments, none of which are taken seriously. In closing, there is only one thing you might want to consider when you comment on my handicapping this MLB season. My record speaks for itself, and I think I'm still in 1st place. Your comments remind me of a quote from a "real loser", that is, "those out in the cold, tend to cling closest together."

Sorry to say this but just love that quote, am 65 and have never heard that. Must be one for the ages cause it's that good. Don't let the ankle biters bother you Harry, combat boots scare them off every time.

Sorry you were so quick to label my observation as a criticism. I specifically said it was nothing personal, just math. I also apologized for posting in the Tracker Forum which was an oversight on my part. I do appreciate you sharing your picks and hope you will continue to do so. I really do.

jacksonjohn- No problem. I should not have "lumped" you in with the other two critics. I assume you realize even the best handicappers in sports, which I consider myself to be, go through slumps. I'm 63 years old, and have successfully handicapped sports, both NFL and college football, NBA and college basketball, and MLB, which for me, is winning over the long haul more often than not. I came to this site, not to prove anything to anyone, but when challenged about my ability to show a profit in these sports year after year, I welcome the critics to just follow along. I've even had jeoulous critics enter other forums, enter contests, use my name, and puposely try to lose to discredit my ability to pick more winners than losers. I learned from great handicappers first hand, Bob Martin for one, who is featured in a book entitled "The 100 Most Influencial People Who Formed Las Vegas." I then at age 27, began to refine what I learned, before computers became a integral part of handicapping. In fact, I tend to believe that computers can actually "harm" a good handicapper and cause one to have more information than you really need. Then, you begin to over refine your own work product, and forget or overlook things like weather, crooked officials, players who are known gamblers etc., and tend to start relying on stats, which really tell you what things have already happened, and not what will happen. Yes, I had a few "bumps in the road" in MLB recently, but today in MLB for example, in the day games, I made 8 moves. I went 8-0. This contest in no way, is indicative of exactly who I really wager on daily, but in the middle of all my selections, there are games I use and simply put, I win consistently. Its ashame, that there seems to be no serious competition from anyone who frequents this site, or perhaps, they exist but prefer not to participate in contests that offer no prizes. I could care less about prizes, as the contest here at the RX.com, is away of listing all my selections, sharpening my skills, sharing them, and wagering on very few (the best ones) at a real emporium. So good luck to you sir, and I assure you, I spend more time handicapping sports than you would believe. Someone asked me the other day, what made me such a good handicapper, and what was the key ingredient to winning? I remarked, marry a rich wife!

P.S. If there are any other posters who think they can handicap more accurately than me, just jump in the MLB contest here, or get in the football contest if one exists. Its free and results speak for themselves! Right now, I wish someone would jump in and take me on. Many have tried, and I've "swaped" with many so called "great cappers" over the years,....I broke them all. Have a great day, and again, good luck!

Harry been following your picks for a while now. I appreciate it. You mention "the RX.com, is away of listing all my selections, sharpening my skills, sharing them, and wagering on very few (the best ones) at a real emporium". So you do not actually bet on all the picks you post?
I personally follow all your picks, so it would be nice to know which ones you actually take. Not like you have to. just saying... Again, I appreciate your posting and i was wondering about you posting NFL , also.. :)

Thanks for separating me out of the pack. I too was under the impression you played all that you posted and would like to know "which is which."

Another concern I have and am sure is shared by others is some of your run lines. The books I deal with will only take -1.5 runs on favs and +1.5 on dogs. So when you have plays like this afternoon where you're betting +1.5 and +2.5 on teams that are favored, it leaves a lot of us out I would think. Not that I would lay -3.00 or -5.00 anyway! LOL... Thanks again for sharing and continued good fortune. I just turned 60 and can appreciate the name dropping of guys like Bob Martin.

By the way, did you ever hear of a capper in Vegas during the '70s and '80s named "Philadelphia Sammy?" He was a real sweetheart of a guy and his wife's name was Esther.

I'm really glad you opened this thread so that we can dialog with you. I can learn a lot from you and hope you'll continue to share about your past experiences.

jacksonjohn- Leave the run line selections alone. Thats for a few high rollers who asked me to post my opinions regarding those props. I just started doing that, as I'm sure you realize. Its a tough wager, but can be beat.

When I lived in Vegas, I had coffee at least 4 or 5 times a week, with a true gentleman named Sammy Brown. A true professional who taught me alot about "earning." Thats the only Sammy I knew then, and I'm sure he is no longer with us. What a loss.

Believe it or not, my uncle many years ago, owned Westland Plaza Shopping Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
My grandfather, built the Eola Hotel, in Natchez , Mississippi, and was the first gentleman to invest over 1 million in such a business in that town. Unfortunately, the depression came, and the rest is history. I still have the original crystal, and silverware from the Eola (saved by my mother) all these years. I know the Eola is still there, and I was there 10 years ago, and saw my grandfather's picture, with his father and brothers on the wall in the lobby. He lived to be 96. I'm sure its changed hands several times since 1929, when he departed Natchez. The name Eola, came from his only sister who died at 8, and whose name they used to honor her by naming the Hotel after her. Small world. I have not been in Jackson in 40 years, but I imagine "Westland Plaza" is in a undesirable area by now. Take care of yourself. Arizona should beat Houston again tonight. Houston might be the worst team in MLB. Then they trade Hunter Pence. Go figure.

Very interesting. It's been about 15 years since I stayed at the Eola and yes, Westland Plaza is not the place to be today, but in the late 60s and early 70s we would drive in circles around Shoney's Big Boy on Friday and Saturday nights to see who we could run into. My cousin, Agnes David, was the property manager for Westland Plaza for years. Don't know if your uncle knew her or not.

My Vegas friend Sammy's last name was Tanenbaum.

jacksonjohn- It took them 10 innings, but Arizona (Diamondbacks) got the $. Arizona is not that good, (certainly won't win their division), but Houston is that bad (pitching) and too many young players to compete the rest of this year. If the Astros ever get any decent pitching, and keep these seemingly talented young hitters around, they could be a factor in a couple of years.

P.S. I went 11-0 yesterday. Got lucky again! lol I have a game Sunday, that if the pitchers "go", its my best bet in several weeks. Stay tuned.

Hey, FH - been following your picks pretty closely - had to back off because one of your worst nights also devastated my bankroll when I kept doubling down to recover. Not pointing fingers - bad days happen to all of us and usually after a rough first bet you tended to recover fast.

You have a great RX score this season (I was in 2nd place last year, but this year, don't know why, but nothing came together, even the "safe" plays I kept going to, to recover). Ignore the lamers who dare to post in your thread - they'll disappear soon enough when JOH catches up with them. They ought to get ban warnings, at least.

Well, got down on the NYY early when posted and then went to dinner missing out on the Arizona and Boston winners (why does it always happen that way?).

Is there any way you could post everything at once or do you even know what your later plays will be? Thanks.
