Im tired of buying a new blender every 6 months and finding chunks of ice.

Someone told me that Vitamix was the best, but the price is insane.

I need to be talked into it.

I do use a blender at least twice a day, so if anyone can justify it, its me.

I guess the question is, is there another blender out there close to as good as a vitamix that does not cost $500

We have a vita mix. Don't have the same amount of usage as you, but now I believe it was worth it, back then, hell no.

In your case, I think it will be worth it with your usage.

Do you know which model you have. The website shows about 10 different ones.

vitamix is no joke. has the same type of motor as a small boat. it will liquify a block of wood. easy to clean. you will never have to buy another blender for the rest of your life.

I used to demo Vitamixs' in the store I ran - they're pretty impressive, and i don't think I ever had one come back. When you crush ice are you starting with large cubes? It's easier for blenders to break down smaller pieces, although with a vitamix that won't be an Issue.

Vitamix 5200 according to Consumer Reports. Great at crushing ice and has a ratings of 76 which is the highest. The next highest is Ninja Master Prep Professional QB1004 for $60.

Vitamix is $450.

Wife bought me a 5000 about 10-15 years ago. One of the few gifts she's bought me that I haven't returned ! I probably only use it on average about twice a week, mostly for smoothies/protein drinks, but it is truly an excellent appliance. I've never have had a problem with it and if you have kids it's a great way to get them to eat(drink !) some fruit. The price may seem high now but after using it for 10+ years I;m sure you won't regret it.

You might want to try Costco right now where I am they are stocked for about $350.00. If not find out if they will be having a road show. I own smoothie and boba shops and the Vita Mix you get at Costco will work just as well as the ones we use.
