cash? 700 per week? 36,200 per year? yes you could live off that, but it wont be a very comfortable living

Living in South FL with a wife and baby it would be very difficult but achievable...Would have to get rid of all the amenities I take for granted now. No direct tv, no gym, no iphone, would have to move out of my house, etc. But I think with a lower standard of living it could be done.

With a SAHM and 2 kids here, no way in hell.... at 2 dollars a meal 3X a day for 4, that includes all meals snacks going out... thats 175 a week... 5 trips to work ($10 per trip), 10 trips to the kids school several miles away -- 125 min for gas.... --- All those insurances home, auto, health add up. It aint gonna happen....

I've definitely made it on less, but things have changed from when that was the case. Mainly KIDS.

i could live comfortably here in Ottawa with all amenities but no savings on $2000 a month quite easily, probably $1500 if necessary. Single Male with zero dependents.
