Atlanta starting pitcher Randall Delgado 0-1 6.75 ERA 2.25 WHIP made his MLB debut in mid June and made it to the fifth inning before being shelled by Texas. In more recent days, Delgado has a 3.45 ERA in Triple A work and has a 13 scoreless innings streak to his credit as he enters tonight against the Giants in replacement of scheduled starter Tommy Hanson who is sidelined with injury. Delgado according to most scouts is one of the most promising arms in the Atlanta organization but might have considerable and understandable jitters tonight against a San Fransico Giants squad although struggling recently are still World Champions. J. Sanchez is 4-7 4.29 ERA 1.46 WHIP but 0-4 6.14 ERA in six outings since early June. Sanchez is 1-3 5.63 ERA in six starts versus the Braves. Snachez has given up 9 Home Runs in 99 Innings Pitched with 3 in Road Starts and 3 in his Last Three Games. His Base On Balls talley is 60+ and has issued 12 BB also in his Last Three Games. Sanchez does have over 100 K's for the season but will need them in quanity against F. Freeman who is a National League Rookie Of The Year candidate. Freeman leads all Rookies with 60 RBI's and is hitting . 363 in his last 28 games. The Giants may be without Sandoval tonight who was batting . 356 before having to leave last night's game due to injury. This development only adds and compounds to the Giants problems who have only gone 5-12 last 17 averaging 2.5 runs per game in that time frame and 3 runs per game in their Last 7. Tonight we will focus on the Braves offense who have improved their Runs Per Game average to 6 RPG over their Last 7 and look to the Atlanta O 4 -120 Total Team Runs in expectation of Sanchez to have continuing control problems while Braves batters hopefully provide the plate discipline needed to avoid easy stikeouts. Delgado which means "Skinny or Thin" in Spanish needs to provide a quality start for Atlanta if the Braves hope to improve on their 7-3 Last 10. Tonight however we seek "Fat Bats" and "Big Innings" by the Braves and maybe a Home Run by Freeman or Uggla to carry the Atlanta Total Team Runs Over the posted number. I think Sandoval might get the OK to play as well as Chipper Jones. My Key Player tonight will be Michael Bourn. I hope to better night with the bat than yesterday and an error free night in Centerfield this time around.

I thought the Braves might go with Minor today in replacement of Hanson but Delgado is the man. Kinda risky in such a big series to get a rookie some game experience to the Average Joe but Fredi Gonzales must know better than Joe.

that sucks for me, only reason i took SF was because of Sanchez being a lefty.

Bourn with an RBI and in the Run Downs of Run Downs. Got a chuckle from that one.

Yes Sanchez was going to make it hard to peg the Over 4 if his performance kept improving.

Both Elvis and the Babe died on today's date August 16th. I saw it in this mornings paper. I thought is was interesting that two of the most popular and influential men of their respective eras, died on the same day. Elvis was 44 and Babe was 53 if I remeber correctly.
