Funny how the Chief's were in the conversation in the pre-season.

Funny how the Chief's were in the conversation in the pre-season.

they lost their best offensive player and best defensive player.

Having said that, their offensive was utterly and completely lost in the preseason... this is why Haley kept them out there in the 4th preseason game

the chargers really aren't that good. their only threat for the division
is from the raiders who are actually the more physical of the 2 teams.
i wouldn't be laying the big juice on SD to win this division even though
that will probably happen.

Schedule May Favor Raiders in AFC West DOUG WILLIAMS 10/11/2011 8:55 AM

If Raiders fans haven’t done it already, they might want to circle this date on the calendar: Thursday, Nov. 10.

That night, the Raiders will take on the Chargers in San Diego for the first time this season in what appears to be a prime-time matchup of the only two teams capable of winning the AFC West.

A week ago, Raiders head coach Hue Jackson, coming off a loss to the Patriots, refused to back down from previous statements that this is a new Raiders team with a fresh attitude that will improve on its 8-8 record of 2010.

We’re going to win the AFC West,” he told reporters. “We’re going to do everything we can do get in the playoffs and go challenge for a Super Bowl. I am not backing down from that.”

At 3-2, the Raiders trail the Chargers (4-1) in the AFC West* standings.

But a look at the two teams’ schedules might indicate the Raiders are about to make up some ground as they work their way toward that Nov. 10 game in San Diego.

As Clark Judge of CBS Sports.com noted, the Raiders’ next three games are all at home against three struggling teams: the Browns, Chiefs and Broncos. Plus, the Raiders are emerging from a tough stretch – that included the Bills, Jets, Patriots and Texans – with a winning record.

The Chargers, meanwhile, have compiled their record over the softest portion of their schedule, with wins over the Vikings, Chiefs, Dolphins and Broncos, and now enter a five-week stretch that includes games against the Jets, Packers, Raiders and Bears. And in San Diego, the complaint against the Chargers has been that while they’re 4-1, they haven't been dominant.

So, after watching the Raiders pull out the victory in Houston Sunday – just a day after the death of owner Al Davis – Judge noted this Raiders team could have something special going.

It could be 6-2 at the halfway point of the season, going into the Chargers game, and Oakland has now won eight straight against AFC West teams.

Wrote Judge: “This is not just an emotional team playing for its owner. This is an improved team playing for a division it believes it can win.”

The Raiders WILL win the AFC West. The Chargers are frauds. And anyone who knows football knows the Chargers are the SOFTEST 4-1 team in the league.

Let's examine how the 4-1 Chargers eeked out wins against teams who are a combined 4 -15 this season.

MIN - Struggled all game long to eventually beat them by a TD late.

KC - 3 pt. win whereby the Chargers needed a key redzone interception w/ 1:26 left in the game to seal the victory. KC dominated the 2H was driving for the win prior to the pick.

MIA - 10 pt win at home. You would hope they would win by at least that much. The dophins are god aweful and were toe to toe at half time.

Den - 5 Pt win @ Mile High. Are you kidding me? We all saw this game. Denver was in this game the whole time. Also a PI call was missed in the final play that would've put Denver on the San Diego's 1 yard line. Trust me SD dodged a bullet in this win.

With all tha said let's see how San Diego handles the real meat of their schedule w/ November. (KC, OAK, GB, and CHI).

The Raiders are battle tested coming out of their 1st qtr stretch 3-2 against legitimate teams.

THE RAIDERS WILL SWEEP THE DIVISION AGAIN. Bank it.
