I'm 34 and have no experience working in a sportsbook, but I have years of mortgage and sales experience. From what I've read on here my best bet is to move there and then try to find a job. Also that it shouldn't be that hard as I am a gringo from the states.. my plan is to move there in Sept. any advice would be greatly appreciated on everything from good areas to live to advice on getting a job..

Pretty much out of luck without papers or knowing someone who works in a book and would be wiling to hire you illegally.

Yeah, he is talking about residency papers. Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon for companies to hire employees that didn't have the correct papers to work here. The gov't didn't enforce it much. Unless they wanted to make a PR statement or wanted to get a bribe. Now though, companies are less likely to hire employees without their paper work. And the places that are willing to hire tend to pay very little and usually require a lot of hours. You might be able to do outbound sales at some places as well...

It is just a matter of cost vs benefit, you see there are several locals with plenty of experience good enough english to take a wager, you would need to be trained, that costs money...

Also without a work permit you are risking any store to get a fine of ¢2.663.376 around $5000 plus a risk of getting broadcasted on the local news, which at this point is something no store would be willing to risk.

You would be facing a $100 fine for each month you work, this is calculated based on your date on entry to the country, plus immediate deportation with a prohibition of entry of at least 5 years.

Now the cost of living here is on average : rent $600 to $800 for an apartment, around $500 for food and others and $100 for utilities.

Try to do that with $4 to $5 per hour!

So there you go... think about it a make your own decision!

If those low-level credit accounts would keep a bit more current, you still have a shot at making it to September, hermano

Will hit you with friendly fone call in next couple days
