You go to a friends wedding and the night before your driving to a rehearsal/reception thing with your friend and you puke in his backseat because you are terribly under the weather. You try to clean it up but he says he wants $65 to detail it, half of the $130 it costs. Should you pay?

Sure, what is $65.00 don't be a cheapskate and leave puke smell in your friends car. That is a chinchy thing to do.

I think he is being polite by asking for just half... I say whoever puked should pay the entire $130

What if the smell can't come out and is attached to the car from now on?

Not trying to be a jerk here, but what is it about the situation that is making you hesitant about paying?

So it was the grooms car you puked in right?

First question...... Did he ask or insist for you to go?

I don't think a friend, especially one in which you are part of his wedding, should even ask you to pay.
Especially if you were under the weather/sick and you only went because you felt you had to.....

I was actually kindof a dick to be fair when he puked and didn't cleanup well (granted he was sick) so that is probably why he doesn't want to pay me.

And no the groom wasn't in the car or involved in any way whatsoever

So you and ANOTHER friend went to the Groom's rehearsal.

Well that's another story then.

The initial post sounded as if it was the groom the person who got sick was riding with.

ONLY IF HE REALLY GOT THE CAR DETAILED BECAUSE OF THIS. (even if he did, it may be going overboard) NO NEED TO PAY FOR HIS TIRES TO GET WAXED AS WELL...

Would a bunch of rags and some cleaning solution do the job for the puke just as well???

Many people (mainly women I dated/ drove home etc) have puked in my car and I never took them to the cleaners...
