Don't want to sound like Chicken Little with the "sky is falling", but, the Meteorological Center, just said the entire Eastern Seaboard from NC to Boston and everything in between is going to get croaked, with "a direct hit in New York City" a very real possibility.

Needless to say, all games, from amateur to professional, (that's a lot of games) will be cancelled.

When it's all said and done, the meteorologists say it will be the wettest august in NYC history.

maryland has really been spared rain of late, in the last 2 months i can only really remember it raining 3 or 4 times. always seem to have it in the forecast, but it never ends up happening where I live

Living here in Houston, I've been through plenty of tropical storms and hurricanes. Stay safe people and I hope everyone escapes any serious problems.

only one thing is certain, "they" dont know what will happen
Yes, but what is certain is the blocking high off the coast (the expert on TWC said it was the size of a mountain) guarantees the storm batters the coast, zero chace of blowing east out to sea.

What is uncertain is how much the storm weakens once it hits land.
North Carolina?
