Connecticut at Tulsa

Tulsa +9
Tulsa just won at LA on a late shot. Sheryl Swoopes made the shot and she has been playing well lately, as she has been averaging 14 ppg in her last 5 games. She is 40 years old and is a former league MVP and a future Hall Of Famer.

Liz Cambage has been playing less. She is in her first year and tiring out. She is 6'8" and represented Tulsa in the all-star game. Tulsa has been starting Swoopes, Tiffany Jackson (20 points/11 rb's on Friday), Amber Holt, Ivory Latta and Lacy in the last few games.

In their last two home games, Tulsa has lost by just 6 points to Minnesota and LA. They led for parts of each game.

The Connecticut Sun just beat Phoenix at home on Friday night in a close game and can wrap up a playoff spot today with a win. They did beat Tulsa at home this year by 11. On the road, Conn has played 3 overtime games in a row at Atlanta, NY and Phoenix. They have won at Chicago by 11 and at LA by 9 and beat Washington by 8. The other away games were a close win or a loss. They are nothing special away from the Mohegan Sun.

Conn does have some good players with Kara Lawson, Rene Montgomery and Tina Charles. They could play well and name the score but Tulsa should have some confidence after a win in LA. All we need is for Tulsa to stay within 9.

Swoopes, the best ever 40 yr old female baller, scores a game high 22 pts. These youngins should be a little embarrassed.

Tulsa w/ a MONSTER 2nd half and wins OUTRIGHT.

As always, thanks Doc!!!

Nice comeback by Tulsa. They were down 11 at half and won by 11. They shot 57% from the field. Liz Cambage did not score and only played 3 minutes but their five starters played well. Phoenix plays at Tulsa on Tuesday.

I hope to have some more plays in WNBA action as the regular season ends in less than two weeks. Some teams will look to rest players while others will look for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Eurobasket 2011 (men) starts August 31. I hope to have some plays which I will post in a new thread or in the Intl/World Univ Games thread. I expect many books to have lines for these games.
