At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: Los Angeles Angels (2.1, +110) and Texas Rangers (1.89, -112)

Rangers are 13-5 at home versus right-handed starters, while the Angels are 1-6 in Weaver’s last seven outings as a road underdog.

Los Angeles blasted five home runs in its 8-4 win over Texas last night to move within two games in the divisional race. “Five home runs, that’s big-time for us,” commented Angels starting pitcher Ervin Santana. The Angels have won seven of their last eight games and are 22-18 since the All-Star break. Offensively, the team has scored five or more runs in seven straight games, which is the club’s longest such streak since 2009. It will be difficult to pick up a series win due to dropping four of the last six contests in the Lone Star State. Los Angeles is 20-20 versus division opponents this year.

Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver is 15-6 with a 2.03 ERA in 27 starts this season and has led the club to consecutive victories. In those two outings, he has allowed just a single run and 10 hits over 14 innings of work. The right-hander is 8-5 with a 2.60 ERA in 15 road starts this season, as opponents are hitting just .205 against him. Weaver will be making his 25th career start versus the Rangers, bringing in a 9-5 mark and 3.14 ERA, including a 2-1 home win two starts back (7 IP, ER). The former first-round selection is 2-1 with one complete game and a 1.86 ERA in 2011 against them.
