Well, technically this was my 1st bash, too, since last year I actually made it to LV just the day after the bash...
The RIO rooms were really nice and once again wil and the rest did a great job of organizing anything so that everything with the RIO went smoothly, thanks to wil and anybody else involved with that.

Had a great time in LV meeting some friends from last years encounter and also meeting new friends:

BAS - fun guy from NY, always fun to talk sports with you and congrats on hitting another one of your big parlays. Unfortunately didn't get to spend too much time with you, John or your wife, so at least say hi to them from me.

Dante - well, what can I say about Dante: One of the biggest pricks out there, but does an awesome job of hiding that and instead impersonating as one of the most fun persons you'll ever meet ;-) J/K, guy is always in a good mood and you just can't help yourself but having a good time around him.
Always great meeting you and was surprised to see people suck out on you at the poker tables since it's usually you who is the luckbox (see 1st hand Royal on video poker)...

Akillies - didn't get to meet him last time around, but finally met him on this trip and had a great time talking MLB with him. Guy knows how to take advantage in gambling and very friendly and fun guy. Felt sorry for him though when him being visibly in pain gave Dante laughing fits. :grandmais
Looking forward to talking sports and hanging around in the sportsbook with you in the future, Kev.

MrLeisure - another great character I met for the 1st time. Really fun to hang around with and please remind me next time out in LV, I owe you dinner ;-)

Quantumleap - Didn't get to spend too much time with Bruce this time around, but we spoke a bit at the bash and another really humble and interesting person. Glad you are happy with your new gig and I'm sure you'll have a great time in Thailand with VD...

ViejoDinosaur - Just love the big guy, like Dante can't imagine how anybody could not. Sure knows the horses and if you want to have fun, hanging out with VD seems like a good way to start. Also one of the most humble, kind and most generous persons out there...

Gravy - The 2nd horse guy, hit some nice trifectas (the IRS celebrated, too, on those ones) and sure as hell enjoyed hanging at the sports and racebook with you. All around good guy and would love to hang out in the sportsbook with you next year again.

TomGshotput - Really smart Vegas guy, and his way of life also makes for some interesting talks. Would have loved to talk to you a bit more about grinding it out in LV, but maybe we can do that in the future.
PS: Look out for that paper cup, would be a shame (and -EV) if you lost that one and good luck on your hot dog competition ;-)

CujoLatte - pretty much only met him, when he came in and his room wasn't ready yet, but this guy was really into it and I think Mr Ipad had a great time. Very friendly/humble guy like pretty much anybody else out of this group, unfortunately didn't get the chance to know him better, maybe next time though.

thekeyman - didn't know what to expect from him and very different from what I had pictured (although not exactly sure, what picture I really had in my mind). But he def. is a character and very interesting person to talk to, also really knowledgable about baseball. Was a pleasure getting to know you, sir, and looking forward to hanging out at the sportsbook with you again.

Sharky - Sorry I didn't make it to downtown on Sunday, hopefully we'll meet again in 2012, maybe around March Madness. Just an all around great guy who knows his way around this city. Great guy.

Dsethi - another fun character, who I finally got to meet this time in LV, although (once again) I'd have loved to talk to him more intensively.

Coaster - once again a great, funny guy. We had lots of fun talking about sports/gambling on Saturday before the bash reception, especially about the African basketball cup match between Madagascar and Mali :lolBIG:

Probably forgot about some, but in general had a great time with anybody I met, haven't met a single poster yet, who in real life wasn't friendly and fun to be around...still a bit hung over from all the flying and time zone changes, but finally back in Germany and although the weather is crappy, at least it's not dangerous or as bad as Irene...
Already looking forward to meeting some of you guys again next year. :103631605
