I really enjoy Phil Steeles College Football Preview Magazine. I use it as a handicapping tool every year. Regardless how he does with his picks, I doubt there are many people that spend as much time as him for College Football. He really knows his stuff.

I use to listen to him on the local sports talk radio where he did a weekly interview. You can ask him just about any question about any team and he would have some really good information.

My question is this guy like most of the other scum touts? Not because I am looking to buy his picks, I was just curious. If anyone has every dealt with his pay for picks, was he honest. I see that they have he won 52% of his 2010 college games on one of his sites. If he was going to lie, I imagine he would do much higher than 52%. I was more interested to know the type of guy he is and his reputation and less about whether he wins or not...

Thanks in advanced for the information

i think he is one person who gives you the most info to use for capping a football game.a ton of useful information if you use it properly.as far as his handicapping,i believe he has fallen off a bit the last couple of years.this happens as you get older as i believe you become more content with your picks earlier than you would have in the past(meaning you settle quicker than normally).for instance, larry ness used to be one of the best handicappers out there, but after he got married and got older it seems like he didn't devote his time to serious handicapping and it showed as he has become a below to adverage capper nowadays

I never have bought Picks from Anyone, and I wouldn't start Now.
Even with Phil Steele !

some of the reasons his College football Preview mag is a Must read, is the Info, Stats and his Insight. gathering information is mostly what he's all about.
Which really has nothing to do with his Picks.

Hes on a weekly show here as well and does know his shit about the NCAA games. I think he is about as honest as they come in the tout business. I get 3 or 4 games a yr out of him that i actually end up betting...But i wouldnt pay him a penny.

Great magazine but I don't think he wins any more than any of the other waste-of-money touts.

I was part of a big group that purchased his picks a few years back. It was more less an investment group. We had a couple years of great success, then the last year (which I think it was 3 or 4 years ago) he sucked it up. We all lost and the group dissolved. I will say we won pretty big money for those first couple years. I agree about the buying of picks tho. I guess it is all a wash out. The rumor was he took a job at some sports book, but never heard for sure. Anyways, his yearly publication is a great read and useful tool...IMO.

his mag is kinda crap imo.... he always goes back to 4 years ago and list what the team did when you breakdown the positions... this to me is pointless info that just fills the pages! he doesnt really break down the strengths or weakness in teams... i find it cluttered with useless info on team pages! i see no purpose in bringing up tim tebows stats in 07,08,09... as he does this with all teams!

still enjoy reading it as i have been reading it every day for the past 5 weeks as i take my office visit in the bathroom...

i took hs service for a number of years. his upset pick and top pick in college made money his pro stuff seemed sporadic. i use mreast if your a believer in historical data his daily email is great. you have to buy something every six weeks say $25.00 to stay on his mailing list. this yearhe gave us an wnba play the opportunity appeared 17 times and went 12-5. i know have a ton of historical data for football and baseball i had the best season ever with his data. regards heart222
