Don't know what to get. I use phone mainly for txt and surfing the web. I have an itouch and used to the apple program, but I do not have a mac pc. Was thinking iPhone....should I wait for the 5 (hopefully early oct) or get the white 4 that has gotten great reviews?

I hear google has their new phone coming out and is supposed to be good. I'm not used to the droid technology. I've goofed around w a buddies phone, but Didnt like it as much as iPhone.

I don't know much, so anyones help would be cool

thanks!

this is a discussion we've had quite frequently here.... You are going to find your fair share or both driod and iphone supporters... IMO there really isn't a wrong choice.. like blackberry is a wrong choice... but between those two you'll be happy either way...

Here's my take.

Iphone is more user friendly. Much better screen. Better durability. I also love the Ipod, I know all play music but I like Itunes, and I like all the music players for the iphone...

However, it is more expensive. The insurance offered on the phone isn't like the insurance on most phones. I believe its $10 a month plus $200 deductible. I may be slightly off and I am sure someone knows the exact numbers... When Iphone first came to ATT there was no insurance, and let me tell you, when you are drunk and the phone falls out of your hand, off your deck and cracks (not to mention lands on your car do'h)... it's a sick feeling paying $400+ dollars for a new one...

It's also more expensive because you pay for the apps.

Droid is cheaper in the long run. More apps because its open. It has evolved nicely. Has some cool features like being able to block certain numbers any time they call ect...

Drawbacks are they tend to have a higher failuer rate, a year or two you can develop what the verizon guy said a ghost in your phone where the droid will text, call, random numbers and people and mess with your apps. My finance had that happen several times. All you can do is get a new phone.

I think youll be happy with either... If you use the Ipod alot go with Iphone. if you are worried about price, go with droid.

If you get the Iphone, wait for the 5 or the 4gs or whatever the call it.

Thanks defying. Im thinking Iphone....did some research today at verizon and a worker there told me that the Iphone 5 will not be 4G. All the rest is speculation, but he knows that for a fact.

As for insurance, I am not worried about that part. My buddy is VP of an electronic refurbishing company here in Richmond. His nerds can fix all phones. I can get that done for cost + a case of beer.

With the 5, I may buy it and sell it for $$$ and trade of an iphone 4 (unless I see something crazy enough to keep it)

Thanks!

Droid3 has a physical keyboard, which isn't 4g.....

I would recommend the swipe texting... look for an app... its a great feature that may help

If you are in VA (I am too) There's no plans to have 4g here for a while... its a usless feature here right now.
