Something tells me when 99% of kickoffs are touched back they will change this rule back.

Couldn't agree more! Takes the return game completely out of play. Won't be many big plays this year. Can't stand it. I'll bet they change it back next year!

hmmmmm and we have a run back ..... go figure

I think maybe it might help run backs by spreading out the kickoff team lenght wise and creating more space......no?

No, he had spectacular move where he mainted his balance. Proper tackling and he is down at the 10.

Reminds me of that stupid rule change in college that lasted all of one year where the clock started after kickoffs.

the dumbest rule I ever remember was the "Halo Rule" in College Football several years ago, I think it lasted a few years before people had enough of it. Basically, if you were within a 5 yard radius of someone fielding a punt then it was a penalty.

That's the Canadian {CFL} rule and it's been around since i can remember, like forever.
