At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: Boston Red Sox (1.95, -105) and Tampa Bay Rays (2, Even)

Red Sox are 23-8 as a road favorite, while the Rays are 2-6 in Davis’ last eight starts versus winning teams.

Boston continues life on the road after dropping three of four games in Toronto to open the week, giving up an alarming 18 runs in the final two contests. “We’re trying to win the division,” Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia stated. “Playing like this, it’s not going to happen.” The Red Sox are still 2 1/2 games back in the American League East race due to the New York Yankees dropping a Thursday affair against the Baltimore Orioles. Boston still has a Major League-best 43-23 road record since April 19. The club is also 33-20 versus divisional opponents.

Red Sox starting pitcher John Lackey is 12-11 with a 6.11 ERA in 24 starts this season and is looking to snap a two-game losing streak. The right-hander has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) and 15 hits over 12 innings over that span. Lackey is making his 10th road start of the year, bringing in a 5-4 record and 5.75 ERA, as opponents are hitting .300 against him. In 18 lifetime outings versus the Rays, he is 12-5 with a 3.81 ERA, including a 4-3 mark and 5.98 ERA in seven starts inside Tropicana Field.
