Is there anyone that believes somehow the Texans still blow their chance at the division?

Between Peyton going down and the Jags basically giving the team over to Gabbert can they still shoot themselves in the foot. Or maybe Hasselbeck pulls a rabbit out of the hat in Tenny?

They have battled injs so far this season (Andre, Foster, M.Williams) and are still winning. Even if Shaub goes down they still take the division

All the good news over the Texans’ 7-3 start turned bad today when they found out quarterback Matt Schaub has suffered a “significant foot injury,” according to coach Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak said Schaub will wear a boot on his ankle and then travel around the country next week seeing specialists in Indianapolis and Charlotte to determine whether he can play again this season.

Kubiak said Matt Leinart will start at Jacksonville when the Texans return from their open date.

Schaub was injured on a quarterback sneak in the second quarter during Sunday’s 37-9 victory at Tampa Bay.

He suffered what was believed to be a sprained ankle and played the rest of the game. He was barely limping in the dressing room after the game.

Am I the only one here that thinks Leinart could play well for them? He's got a great running game to take some pressure off, and will be getting Andre Johnson back soon. I think he took his time in Arizona for granted, and will take this as opportunity a bit more seriously.

I think the Texans will be fine, although it's unknown how he'll do in the playoffs. The division race is over as far as I'm concerned, the Texans will win it.

I'm wondering how much difference there is between a right and left handed QB though when it comes to blocking, handing off, throwing, etc...

With Schaub, teams had to respect his ability to hit the deep ball, which helped to open up run game. With leinart, teams will begin to stack the box and play closer to the line. Leinart has no arm strength, and is always looking for the dump off. This injury changes the entire complexion of the offense.

I'm tired of hearing how now opposing teams will now stack the box. What do you think teams did when A. Johnson got hurt? Teams immediately started focusing on the running game and it hasn't worked. It hasn't worked and won't work because the offensive line of Houston is flat out crushing the opposing defense.

A. Johnson will be back for the next game, let them continue to stack it and watch them get burned.

We are talking about the same Matt Leinart that played for the Cardinals, aren't we? He had two of the best receivers in the NFL in Boldin and Fitzgerald and still couldn't complete a pass. Leinart sucks. Johnson running down the sideline all alone means nothing if the QB can't get the ball to him. I like your team, and felt they were the playing better than anyone else in the AFC. But you are deluding yourself if you think Leinhart is just going to seamlessly pick up where Schaub left off. Good luck the rest of the way.
