New York at Indiana
Thursday 8pm eastern
over 146.5

These two met four times this year and they ended up with 161, 166, 153 and 158 points scored. In last year's playoffs the opening game between the two teams reached 158 points. The other two in last year's playoffs ended with 142 and 151.

Indiana is a good defensive team and NY has played unders 15-6-1 in their last 22 games but NY has PG Cappie Pondexter to lead the team and speed up the game. She can score and dish it to her teammates. Let's go with the over in the opener.

The totals for their games were in the 145 to 146.5 range this year. It is the first game of the playoff series and the teams could be tight and start slowly. Indiana is considered a good defensive team and could show it tonight.

Wow, brutal 4th q. 26 total points and it was even tied with about 2 seconds left. Right call on the pick, just a bad beat.

Somehow WNBA games always seem to have one garbage qtr from both teams. Unfortunately they both shit the bed in the same qtr tonight and still missed over by .5 pt. Oh well. Still 2-1 day Dr T. Keep up the solid work! Your International winners continue to amaze me. :toast:

Atlanta at Connecticut
7pm eastern Friday

pick: Conn -3.5
Conn was one of the best home teams in the WNBA this year. They beat Atlanta by 9 and by 7 in the two meetings at the Mohegan Sun. Atlanta won the two played in Atlanta. Here are the last 8 home games for Conn:

beat NY by 7
beat Ind by 28
beat Phoe by 3
beat Atl by 9
beat Minn by 29 (one of the best performances in 2011)
beat Wash by 7
lost to SA by 13
beat Atlanta by 7

Atlanta started the year slowly but have played well in the second half of the season. Angel McCoughtry is one of the top scorers in the WNBA and can put up 30+ anytime.

Conn is led by:

Tina Charles 17.5
Renee Montgomery 14.5
Ashja Jones 13
Kara Lawson 10 (89% FT)

I like the home team to win and cover if you can get 3.5. These two tend to play some high scoring games but Conn last 5 stayed under. The Sky have better inside players and should go to the line more.

do u think Connecticut's lack of playoff experience play a big part? i was leaning Connecticut as well, but i'm thinking if this game goesdown to the wire like they usually do between these 2... maybe the playoff vets will have an edge. honest question, hopefully will get a reply before game start. thx in advance.

San Antonio at Minnesota
Tuesday 8pm (Game 3)

under 148.5

Olympic has this at 148.5. The series is tied 1-1. The first game was at Minnesota and was a low scoring 66-65 game while the game at San Antonio ended with 159 points. SA played 5 overs and 13 unders on the road while Minnesota had 5 overs, 12 unders and one push at home. The trends and the situation point to an under.

The three games at Minnesota this year reached 131, 160 and 122. Out of the six meetings this year, four went under the total.

My posted plays have been cold lately but you have to take the good with the bad. Winning streaks and losing streaks are part of handicapping.

I wouldn't be shocked to see an over but like our chances for an under in a pressure packed Game 3 to see who faces Phoenix in the next round.

San Antonio has played the Lynx tough all yr. They lost by 1 in the 1st playoff game at Minn. They beat them by 9 at
San Antonio. I think this final game will be a physical contest with everything on the line. Maybe Minn is feeling
the pressure of being the team that is supposed to win the Championship. I like San Antonio to cover the 8 pts
tonight. It should be a close game and I like the 8 pts. Maya Moore wins the game at the end.
