One man's opinion............
Congrats to Mariano Rivera for setting a Major League Baseball record for saves, but give some appreciation to the Minnesota Twins, Rivera's latest victim, for showing grace and sportsmanship after the game. The Twins stayed and applauded Rivera after the Yankees reliever closed out a 6-4 win for his career best 602nd save. The Twins' players wanted to win, but when it was over, they honored Rivera. The Twins' Michael Cuddyer said afterward, "I stood in front and gave him applause, and he deserves it. This is one time when you've got to put yourself aside." Not everyone can do that. Not everybody can be gracious after somebody sets a record against them.
