While I was on the internet, something came up and told me it was a scan. Looked like something from Microsoft. So I let it scan, but when I realized it wasn't MS, I cancelled it, and shut down the PC.

But when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't restart. It would go to Boot, and System Restore, but when I tried System Restore, the screen would go blank and only have a cursor on the top left of the screen. Never have seen a virus like this. I've conquered these same type before, but I don't know what to do about this one. If I can't get online, I can't use anything I have to defeat these bastards.

Anyone out there have a suggestion?

Can you even turn on the computer?

Also the name of the fake computer scanner would help. I get these a lot and remove them all the time. You get them while looking for porn or streaming tv shows off the net.

If you can get into safe mode try running system restore from there. When you are finally able to boot up I'd run the following:

1) Free online scanner from eset.com

2) Malwarebytes antimalware

3) TDSS Killer from kaspersky.com

4) Superantispyware

I think it's F8. I just keep hitting it after the initial bootup screen otherwise it's too hard to hit it exactly at the right time. Make sure to enter safe mode with networking.
