Love this time of year and what a great night of baseball last night huh? amazing and almost looked scripted...

I will post all of my playoff plays in this thread with writeups for each game

Playoff MLB betting is where I made a killing last year, hopefully it repeats this year

First i will do a brief summary of each series

Rays-Rangers

wow are the rays lucky to get in, amazing...
my opinion of this series is rangers take it 3-1...better lineup, better bullpen
price wont pitch till game 3 or 4 it looks like so line up hellickson, shields, neimann against im guessing wilson, holland, lewis, harrison ...

Neimann 9.2 era against rangers this year
Shields 1 earned run allowed against texas
Hellickson only faced rangers once 6 ip 2 runs
14 ip 3.20 for price this year

Wilson 22 ip 2.0 era this year
Holland 5.84 era in 12 ip this year
8 innings 0 runs one start this year for lewis
Matt harrison only has 2 innings pitched against the rays

I think the rays got lucky and that is it for them the rangers will take care of business with homefield advantage and that nasty rangers lineup

Prediction Rangers win series 3-1

Brewers - Dbacks

What a great mathchup both teams with 2 frontline starters, both teams have great bats, athletes, speed, good coaches...should be a tight good series

No idea the pitching matchups but im guessing it will be Gallardo, Greinke, marcum in that order against kennedy, Hudson, Collmenter...

Collmenter 14ip 0 runs 1 win against brewers
Hudson 4 ip 11er against brewers
IPK 7ip 0 er against brewers

Greinke 7ip 2 er against dbacks this year
Gallardo 13ip 2 er much better home pitcher than away
Marcum-6ip 4 er this year against dbacks

edge to brewers bullpen with hawkins-krod-axford
edge to brewers bats with one of the best 3-4 combos in baseball

homefield advantage for brew crew

Prediction Brewers in 5

Phillies- Cardinals

I feel there is one team in the NL that matches up well against the Phils and has a chance to beat them, that is the cardinals with their veteran experience in the lineup and manager... Phils are a goooood team, great team but two things worry me, their lineup slumps a lot either you get a 10 run firework show with them or you get 1 run on a solo HR, which lineup shows up? Also the cardinals rotation is out of wack since Carp pitched Wednesday night...im guessing garcia, lohse, carp will be the rotation

SP- Phils
BP- Neither but advantage Phils if you put a gun to my head
Lineup- Cards i really like the combo of pujols-holliday-berkman

Cliff lee against STL this year 15ip 3 er
Halladay 14ip 5er against STL this year
Hamels 7ip 5er against STL this year

Carp against PHI this year 15ip 1 er
Lohse against PHI this year 15ip 3er and much better on the road than at home
Garcia against PHI this year 15ip 1 er and much better pitching as of late

Now as I said there is one team in the nl that can beat the Phils, look at those numbers against the phils this year for the cards starting pitching if they can repeat that in this series this will be a huge huge upset and a fun series to pay attention to

Prediction Phillies in 5 (only reason i say this is because carp will only pitch one game this series so if there is a game 5 it will be garcia or lohse against doc or lee that is a huge advantage to phils)

Yankees- Tigers

There is a small rooting interest here so i will try not to be a homer... (<)<

It will be CC, Nova, Garcia for the yanks against Verlander game 1 and 5, fister 2, scherzer 3, porcello 4

Great matchup, verlander vs CC will be fun to watch they faced one this year and yanks won 6-3...

Lineup- advantage yanks
SP- advantage tigers because of depth and mr cy young
BP- yanks but not by much ill explain why in my writeup

Nova has never faced Detroit
Garcia only one start against det this year 7ip 5 runs, in last 3 years 4.70 era against detroit
CC this year 13ip 6er

Verlander-12ip 6 er look similiar to CC stat line against Det right? great matchup
Fister-wont use his stat line this year against yanks because he was with seattle...so his career stats against yanks 11ip 9er
Porcello @):)- 15ip 12er 9walks against yanks
Scherzer - 13ip 6er against yanks this year

So as you see above no pitcher has dominated either team in their careers or this year so it is hard to predict what will happen in this series, i will say CC is a great postseason pitcher and always is at his best...
To compare these lineups miggy cabrera is one of the greatest hitters in th game and is just freaky good... vmart is also good, avilia is good, d young is good... but nothing compared to the yanks lineup with Cano, grandy who are both MVP candidates, tex 39hr 111rbi, arod great postseason hitter and now healthy, jeter is jeter in the playoffs enough said, speed with gardner, swish with very good numbers off all 4 pitchers in career...
and for as good of a year as valverde has had
he has horrible numbers against the yankees in his career and i feel like yanks always get to him...
tigers BP is strong with benoit and al alburquerque but yanks can match that with soriano and robertson (what an amazing year)

yanks can end game with the greatest closer and greatest postseason closer of all time mariano in 140 ip in playoffs in 15 years has only given up 10 runs in his entire career in the playoffs his ERA this year was under 2 with 44 saves so you cant see he isnt the same MO as in the past...

This will be a great series, two MVP candidates in lineup for Yanks, two great hitters in miggy and vmart for tigers... two CY young guys in cc and verlander at the top of the rotation and then fister and nova (both had great years)...this will be a good series ...yanks in their last 2 ALDS are 6-0, yanks with homefield advantage

As some of you know, i do not bet on or against the yankees due to superstitious weirdness i dont like to jinx my team and already have too much invested emotionally so i will not be making any Yanks-Tigers plays this postseason but you can ask my opinion of any game and i will be glad to give it...

Prediction yankees in 4 they will beat up on the tigers starters and wont even get to a game 5 to have to face verlander again...

Goodluck this postseason and i will have my plays for Friday before the games start!!

as much as i hate the sox, i feel bad!! i have a lot of family up in boston and they are huge huge sox fans, i felt for them last night, but they also rubbed it in my face after the ALCS 3-0 collapse, but for a sox fan this had to be worse witnessing a month long collapse.... funny thing i thought of and i know this is just a coincidence but bill buckner was on curb on sept 5th...the red sox only have 5 wins since buckner appeared on TV since sept 5th.... so whats that 5-20 since buckner appeared, the sox werent doing bad up until that point, i know it means nothing but i just found it ironic haha

anyway, goodluck this postseason man always good to hear from ya, and hope you took the day off work today, im sure it was a rough night and morning!

this is it man...the money maker!

right now i see brewers at -130 in game 1 that is tough i thought the line would be closer to -115....... but gallardo at home is nasty, checking out my numbers posted above, gallardo has the edge, i will finalize my plays tomorrow but right now texas and brewers are some nice plays to look at

Dont mean to junk up your thread, nor do i know whether or not you care about umpire crews. But I came across the rays/rangers umpire crew on Rangers Foul Territory so here it is

Umpire crew announced

MLB announced the umpiring crews for the divisional series.
The Rangers-Rays ALDS umpiring crew will be headed by Dale Scott. He will be joined by Mark Carlson, Kerwin Danley, Greg Gibson, regular season crew chiefs Brian Gorman and Marvin Hudson.

Hey whats up link agree with alot of what you said. Gonna disagree about the yanks sweep though. NO Way they sweep. Detriot is the hottest team in baseball. Verlander is sick and look at fister lately and hes been on fire! Their lineup top to bottom is right there wit the yanks. Detriot in my opinion has the better starting pitching. Tigers in 7 for me!

thanks, but i didnt take any favorites in anything yet, i didnt even post a play or make a play, i did not tell you or anyone to make a play, i did not take any favorite...all i said was i think brewers win, i think phillies win in a tight series because carp is only pitching once, i think rangers win easily, i think yanks win but it may be close depending on game 2

can you edit your post or is it too late?

come on man, you tell me you are a good capper.... division series are 5 games not 7 so when i say yanks in 4 i mean they win 3 of the first 4 games, and that is a prediction i am not playing that on the series price, i am simply giving my input, tigers can win in 5, yanks can win in 5, who knows..but its my prediction

fister looks good lately but he has never ever ever ever pitched well against the yankees so that right there is false... detroit is not hottest team in baseball, yanks had it all locked up the past week so they played backups if they didnt play their backups yanks were on a streak of winning i believe 18 of 21 before they locked up the AL east and home field....... you cant go by games where yanks were playing AAA players the past 5 games

detroit lineup top to bottom right there with yanks?

lets compare

a jackson- curtis granderson -----granderson and its not even remotely close
betemit- arod ..............arod and its not even close
d young- gardner- gardner because he is a better fielder and can do more with the bat and get on base but its close
miggy- tex --- miggy here but tex better power numbers, miggy overall the better hitter though!
santiago- cano ------- cano x10000 and its not close
vmart - chavez ---- vmart
kelly- swisher ----- swisher by a ton
avilia- martin- avilia
peralta- jeter ---- jeter, better regular season got hot lately and jeter is one of the best postseason hitters of all time, so jeter here

so tigers better in 3 positions over yanks, DH, 1B, C....... that is chavez/montero combo which is still very good, tex who hit 39 homers and 111 rbi, and martin who is a better catcher defensively than avilia but avilia better hitter

so yanks win 6 of the 9 hitting positions but you say tigers lineup is right up there?

Runs scored 867 for yanks, tigers 787 so about 100 run difference
runs against 657 for yanks and 711 for tigers so about 50 run difference in pitching

Verlander > CC but not by much
Fister = Nova in terms of stuff
Scherzer > garcia
Porcello <<<<<<<<<< CC
if it gets to game 5
Verlander >>>>> Nova

yanks lineup>> tigers lineup
yanks bullpen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> tigers bullpen

as many baseball experts are predicting ill do the same

valverde blows at least 1 game in this series, yanks hit him very hard everytime they see him, i bet you he blows one game
