Pretty decent card for a free fight on Versus tonight, can't wait for next week though. Bets, info, and thoughts all welcome.

Laid some down on the dogs:
- Walel Watson [primarily a submission guy, new to UFC along with his opponent Sandoval. I think Watson's skill level of previous opponents is slightly higher than Sandoval's and should control the fight on the ground]

- Paul Sass [young Brit w/ 11-0 record, 10 by submission (including 8 triangle chokes), although Johnson appears to be the stronger wrestler in this fight, he has glaring weaknesses in his sub defense when his takedowns aren't working for him]

- Charlie Brennemen [Good chance Rumble Johnson wins this fight but if Charlie can keep his distance from Johnson's striking and take him in deep water, he might pull out a decision once again.]

Got Cruz [will probably go to decision] in a parlay with Wiman [I feel that Wiman's hands will the deciding factor here] and Pat Barry, hoping that he doesn't get flash KO'ed by Stefan Struve (although he's no Kongo).

Nice calls. Just saw this thread. Here's some shit I wrote a few days back.

Dominick Cruz vs. Demetrious Johnson

A part of me wants to believe that a wrestler with excellent boxing like Johnson (9-1) is the recipe to topple Cruz (18-1), but after the champion bested similar fighters in Scott Jorgenson and Urijah Faber recently, I just don’t see it happening for the challenger. Cruz will use his reach and excellent takedown defense while keeping his distance. Johnson is tough but Cruz has proven that his skills are perfectly suited for winning this type of fight. The champion holds onto his belt with a 5-round unanimous decision.

Pat Barry vs. Stefan Struve

This is a big clash in size, with the 6’11” Struve (21-5) taking on the 5’11” Barry (6-3). Barry has excellent power in his hands and massive leg kicks, but he seems to find ways to lose and hasn’t shown he has the ground game to last in the UFC. Struve is also prone to big mistakes because he doesn’t use his reach properly and eats huge shots. Although Barry could add another knockout loss to Struve’s record, I have to believe the lankier fighter wises up and drags this one to the ground where he can use his edge in Jiu Jitsu. Struve by 1st round TKO, although a submission wouldn’t surprise me if Barry tries to roll out from the bottom.

Anthony Johnson vs. Charlie Brenneman

Brenneman (14-2) and Johnson (9-3) both have wrestling backgrounds, but their fighting styles are quite a bit different. Johnson loves to land huge shots while using his wrestling to keep the fight standing, while Brenneman likes to take the fight to the ground and control his opponents. Brenneman lost to Johny Hendricks by TKO just over a year ago, and the heavy-handed winner has many similarities to Johnson’s fight game. Although Brenneman has the skills to grind out a decision, I’m calling for him to fall after eating some big shots. Johnson wins this with a 2nd round TKO.

Not trying to bash you.

But what is the point in posting that now? After the fights? For a pat on the back?

You should post that stuff before the fights...
