I mean come on, it is only $5 per month! Most of you guys spend $3000-5000 per month on your debit card! What is $5 going to do to you?? Fucking nothing! That is the cost of a kids meal at most restaurants.

If you are reallly worried about the fee. Then just get a credit union account. Credit Unions charge no fees, they have debit card rewards programs and most importantly they sponsor many local youth sports leagues as well as local charities.

What do those big banks do for your local charities or sports organizations? Usually they dont do anything

I'm not tired any fee of any kind is BS,,,,

60 bucks year x how many customers, plus the number of times that 5 dollars causes more fees and so on.,

Not tired of it, hope they keep bitching.

you are of course right but most sheeple wont do a thing since it involves some action on their part

plus lets not forget the origin of debit cards , it allowed banks to LOWER their operating expenses.....when they didnt need a human clerk to deal with all these transactions

so they ALREADY had a savings in the past, they benefited from people using debit cards

Maybe banks will add some loyalty programs that they took away because of the fee. I mean some people pay $3.00 for a bottle of water everyday. What is $5 per month for a fee that might lead to improvements in other ways?

I do not bank at Bank of America mainly because we only have 1 location within 100 miles of my house. But if I did bank there, then I would just close up shop and switch banks to a credit union. Credit unions actually help your local economy and organizations

Pay with a credit card.

For credit card payment every month set up automatic payment of the full balance.

No fees.

I am not sure credit card debt is the reason we are in this mess.

The blame goes to the bankers who made the housing loans to anyone and everyone.

Just venting.

This is correct, but at the end of the day you are responsible for your own finances and if you are dumb enough to buy a house you can't afford, tough shit.

What happened to people putting 20% down. Now, most Mfers don't have 20% to put down, so keep renting until you do or buy smaller.

As for the Debit card fee. Good! If people are stupid enough to use debit cards, they should pay. Never used a debit card, almost got into with the woman at the bank when I said, I only want an atm card, not a fucking debit.

Credit card for every thing.

In Houston ?

It's the principle with those cocksuckers at BofA. They even charge you to cash a check drawn on their bank if not a customer.

I didnt mean credit cards in particular, I meant the obsessive need of spending money they dont have (meaning , what % of credit card users do that thing you suggest), using the house as an ATM machine, the banks in an orgy of lending to get more $$$$ in bonuses, people buying houses without having a dollar for the down payment etc etc.

I cant say I blame the banks in everything, people who cant figure out how to balance their checkbook and constantly go into overdraft...........well ...they certainly got what they deserved. (those fees are indeed abusive but they were also stupid to fall into the trap)

living within (or slightly under) your means is something that went totally out of fashion

as of may 2011 the total credit card debt in the US is about 800 billion dollars

People can't be trusted to manage their finances.

Most people can't be trusted to wipe their arse.

The banks are 99% percent responsible. Banking CEOs allowed these sub prime loans out of greed.

Yet, most of these CEOs will still have a fat pension and enough money to last 10 lifetimes.

Basically, banks encourage you to use your debit card and now they are charging you a fee for accessing your own money. Can I afford the $60 a year hit, yes, but imo banks find any excuse they can to stick you with fees. Imo they could save themselves some money if they'd reduce the salaries of the ceo's.:pucking:
