Postseason ytd: Strong Plays 1-2 -4.75 units // Juice Plays 2-0 +5 units // Action Plays 0-1 -1.13 units

Strong Play

Philadelphia Phillies -115 -- Roy Oswalt is the way better pitcher. Edwin Jackson I think is bad. Phillies send the Cards home tommorow. Phillies hit righty's alot better. (to win 5 units)

I might have more plays when they come out

how pujols hits three doubles and doesn't score a single run until the 9th is beyond me.

Cards hit Oswalt. Jackson's been consistently very good since he was a scape goat against the brewers in that game he let up like 8 ER in 7 innings. Jackson's pitching for millions of dollars. I like the home dogs.

Not the worst strategy in the world....but in each I'd be atleast a little bit scared and for the same reasons. Game 4 both teams are on the road. Game 5 is matchups of aces, which are always far from a sure thing. Seems like we're risking a lot for a little.

Sorry for the triple post but another note-The phillies have scored 3 runs in the past 16 innings, all knocked in by Ben Fricking Fransisco

Cards have not hit Oswalt well this season though. He's faced them three times, but you really should throw his second start against them out. Yeah, he gave up 4 runs in 2 innings, but that was in large part due to the injury, which is why he left the game so early, going on DL for the next 1.5 months. In his two other starts, he pitched a combined 12 innings, giving up 1 run on 12 hits, while walking one. The last one came just 2 weeks ago where he gave up just 5 hits over 7 scoreless innings. I'm already on Phils for the series for small, but am already on the Phils as a medium play here...may go bigger after further analysis. Phil's offense is certainly a concern though. They are one of the most inconsistent good offenses in baseball...in large part due to Ryan Howard being the ultimate feast or famine clean-up hitter.

Also a stat of note: Over their 6 September starts, Oswalt had a WHIP of 1.17 and Jackson had a WHIP of 1.55.

I am thinking about taking the Brewers, think both NL team go home today, but Randy Wolf hasnt been pitching the greatest, Jon Saunders is decent on the road, not so much at home. Brewers at -105 is looking very tempting

as for the cards "hammering" oswalt this year

Oswalt has pitched 3 games vs. Stlouis. Oswalt is 1-1 pitched 14 innings giving up 17 hits 1 HR 5 ER 1 BB and 11 K's. being a 3.21 ERA

Not exactly lighting him up.

and for Edwin Jackson pitching great to end the year

His last 3 starts he has 3 NO decisions -- Pitched 13 innings 16 hits given up 7 ER 7 BB 6 K's (against Houston, Chicago CUbs, Ny mets, however the Cards did win all those games)

I had to go back 3 years to find when Stlouis hit Oswalt good, and they did most of the batters were .333+

This year Berkamn is 3-5 against him, Furcal is 1-3, Molina is 4-5, other than that everyone is under .250 against him.

Ill take phillys all day, with Oswalt vs. gas can jackson (righty) vs. a VERY good Left handed dominated line up.

cuz he hit them with 2 outs most of the time and nobody on, and thats what good pitchers do, shut it down with RISP.
