Yes, that and The Hustler are my two favorites. James Caan was very good in The Gambler, especially in the scene where he is listening to Chick Hern announce the Lakers game on the radio and kicks the radio over when he loses at the last second. Lauren Hutton didn't look too bad in that movie as well.

The Cincinnati Kid! Cannot count how many times I've watched this movie. Steve McQueen and Edward G. Robinson are excellent in this showdown! A real poker movie! Five card stud!

Love Let it Ride... It inspired me to visit Wonderland and Suffolk Downs when I was young. I doubt this will be a popular opinion, and maybe it shows my age, but I really think the Color of Money is great because it portrays so many aspects of gambling... And, the score/soundtrack is second to none.

I think it was one of richard Dreyfuss's best acting jobs IMO when he won those races he really acted the part

Hi Old Man Ted,

Yes. Steve McQueen and Edward G Robinson were great in that movie. But they also had a fantastic supporting cast that included Karl Malden, Ann Margret and a very young Tuesday Weld. Did you know that if Tuesday Weld married an actor named Frederick March III that she would be called Tuesday, March III ? (I know it's a bad pun)!
