received a payout in check form from a very odd country

requested a cash out for a few hundred and the check arrived today from a place i wouldnt not expect to be seeing as the shipping location or the location of the bank it was from. The betting site (very well known and A grade book) also included a letter with a phone number for my bank to call if they have an issue with the check.

so im going to assuming depositing this might get me questions asked?

who knows the saints, its a little goofy to me. i have cashed out with them before and never gotten a check like this from them, my friend cashed out a couple dimes a few days before me and his was from a us bank, while mine is from a far east country.

also weird that the check doesnt have a line for me to sign on the back, but you see that sometimes. i guess if the bank asks whats this from ill say i bought some shit on ebay and they refunded me this way

sounds like it might have a several week hold on it. Impossible to do post-up business with US clients now, that's why most good books dropped the US already.

deposited the check today, teller seemed confused at first, but the other one told her what to do and it went fine. I asked her if there was any hold or how long for it to clear and she said the funds were immediatly available.

Check was a few hundred, maybe you have a few thousand in said acct, that's why it is available now !

It ain't clear just yet, IMO.

Wouldn't think a Check like that would Clear that Fast.
What Doug said is right. If you have the Funds in the account, to them right it clear

I would yet Draw on that Check

Was it a bank check or was it a check from a company? If it was a bank check was the actual account drawn on a US based bank? More than likely the only reason the funds were available immediately was due to you having more than enough funds to cover the loss if it bounced and your account history with the bank.

the check was from singapore and had writting in a foreign language on part of it. inside the envelope it was mailed it, it contained a phone number and name of an american bank if my bank was having any issues depositing or cashing my check

It may have been a Singapore Bank that has a US corresponding bank. If so, it is like a cashiers check because banks don't issue bad checks. If they can validate the bank issued it then its good as gold.

looks like it corresponds with a bank of america, so now that you mention it, that is probably why the funds were immediatly available
