The local grocery store ( Shoprite) gives seniors (over 60), 5% off on Tuesday.

The cashier asks me do you get the senior discount, not being one to refuse a discount, I say YES !

So I saved $3. I feel like Fishhead, now ! :think2:

I didn't ask for it, but if they offer it, I'll take it.

I don't think I look 60....I'll chalk it up to a new cashier not knowing how to handle it. This same place sometimes cards me for beer.

It would really be funny to give me the senior discount easily, then card me for beer on the same transaction.

How about this idea ?

Does anybody get fake ID's to get senior discounts ?

I need to talk to Fishhead about this.....

Though I'm only 44, I've been a card carrying member of AARP for about 15 years now .....

that's NOT a mistake. It's
American

Retired
Persons

Not, AAOP -
American
Association
of
Old
People.

If somebody asks, say you "retired" from your last job.

Now, I disagree on just about everything they stand for, but yeah, it's cool flashing your aarp card for discounts :ohno:

I've heard Fishhead say AARP is crap, and he's like 51, I think.

Obesity adds to the visual perception of older age for most viewers.

Drop 50-75 lbs and I believe you would probably be viewed by most people as ten years younger than what they currently guess.

While I could certainly lose 20 lbs, the grey in the beard is a sure give away I'm not 18 anymore.

Retired or not, you need to be 50 in order to qualify for membership to AARP.

Not really .... you see, what you do is "accidentally" put the wrong age in when you fill out the on-line form. After your member ship is approved, simply go back in and update it to your correct age. It's all done on-line (at least it was when I originally signed up years ago).

You can also get an "associate" membership by being the secondary person of a 50 year old + person (Most people don't know about this angle).

I'd feel bad, except tomorrow the same cashier will card be for beer, then next Tuesday ask me if I get the Senior discount.

Yeah, I'm Senior....I'm older than you !

at least they don't card you for the senior discount, I can't bring myself to ask for it. I doubt I'd get carded for it, but I won't ask for it.....offer it then I'll accept it, I wasn't born yesterday ( 1963 actually)....

An insult with savings of sorts, and that same checker will card me for beer on Thursday. No idea if a 45 ish guy is 21 or 61.
