Citing three NFL sources, the Denver Post reports the Broncos have placed WR Brandon Lloyd on the trading block.

The asking price is a draft pick in the Round 3-5 range. "Three or four" teams have expressed interest, including the Titans and Panthers. As a 30-year-old coming off a career season and set to hit free agency in 2012, Lloyd is an obvious trade candidate for a rebuilding team. He'd be a useful pickup at a relatively cheap cost for a team with a receiver need. With Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal returning from injuries, there's depth at the position in Denver while the offenses goes into ball control mode under Tim Tebow.

Don't see this happening, but imo would be a great fit for the Ravens: Would be the perfect counter part for a physical guy like Boldin and help to stretch the field for Rice...

The lions would be a good fit. Keep defenses honest on megatron.

yeah but they have burleson, and grooming titus young...doesnt really seem like a good fit...i understand lloyd is a different type of receiver...plus they want to keep those draft picks im sure, rather than rent a guy for the rest of the year

ravens i did consider as well... makes sense

true, i just think the lions didnt expect to run out to this start and can groom guys later. They actually have a decent shot this year and to make that offense better would help. They would be served to acquire another back maybe.

honestly at 5-0 and what tey are doing right now i dont think their offense can improve much...especially not at the cost of a decent lb or db or future o lineman...
if jahvid goes down they would be screwed for sure, but until then keiland williams is going to be the spell back, and they will keep spreading it out and using jahvid that way..
titus young is progressing so fast grooming probably isnt even the right word for me to use...

Lloyd lands in St Louis
Wideout takes up leadership role after moving from Broncos to Rams
By Paul Higham - Twitter:mad:SkySportsPaulH. * Last Updated: October 18, 2011 12:31pm

Lloyd led the league last season with 1,448 yards receiving, after catching 77 passes and scoring 11 touchdowns, but he has not had the same joy this season.

Denver's benching of quarterback Kyle Orton in favour of Tim Tebow in week five signalled Denver's decision to move to a more run-oriented offence, and Lloyd felt he was no longer a good fit for the Broncos.

The emergence of Eric Decker and the return to fitness of Demaryius Thomas means that Denver have adequate cover out wide, and both parties felt a move was the best solution.

Lloyd moves to St Louis with the Rams handing Denver a conditional 2012 draft pick, with the 30-year-old excited about being a leader and a major player in a more pass-happy offence.

Leadership

"To be able to go into a leadership role in St. Louis - a more pronounced leadership role - and to be needed and viewed as an important to piece to the puzzle to get the organization back on track is a role I'm excited for," Lloyd told NFL Network.

"There's a lot of work to be done. This is not a celebration for me escaping Denver. This is a move to help the organization get back on track. I'm clear in what my role is, I'm clear in what needs to be done, and I'm up to the challenge. I'm ready."

Tebow is more of a run threat than a pass threat so far in his young career, and Lloyd insisted that there was nothing personal behind his desire to leave Mile High Stadium.

"This had nothing to do with Tim (Tebow)," Lloyd told KKFN-FM in Denver. "I'm like everybody else, I find it hard not to like the kid and I have a lot of respect for him and a lot of respect for what he wants to accomplish in his career.

"I think this move creates the space for Denver to really find out what they want to do with the organization and the same thing for me. It puts me in a situation where maybe a team will want to look at me long-term or maybe I can fill a void for a season for St. Louis and get those guys back on track."

Back on track

Lloyd will play against Dallas this week and immediately becomes the team's top receiver with Mike Sims-Walker being released and a group of young wideouts left on the roster.

Former Denver coach Josh McDaniels is now St. Louis' offensive coordinator, meaning the transition should not be too much for Lloyd and he has a good familiarity with the systems already in place.

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has not been helped by a lack of talent around him this season, with his team yet to win a game, and he is also struggling with a high ankle sprain picked up during the loss in Green Bay on Sunday.

Once fully fit though, Lloyd is determined to help young Bradford show more of the promise he has already show at times, and also help the floundering Rams get back on track.

"Sam is only going to be as good as the people catching the passes from him," Lloyd said. "I think once, as a receiver, you realize that you're just as important as the quarterback in helping the team win, you're starting to understand the game.

"He just needs to get a motivated receiving group around him, and that will elevate everyone's play, because he's that good."
