NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — An argument between a cashier and two irate customers at a Manhattan McDonald’s turned violent, leaving both customers injured and all three facing charges.
The entire incident, which was captured on video, happened Thursday morning at a McDonald’s on West Fourth Street in Greenwich Village, CBS 2’s Chris Wragge reports.
It appeared to have started when two female customers argued and yelled obscenities at the cashier when he questioned a $50 bill they gave him.
One of the female customers then slapped the cashier. A woman is then seen jumping over the counter while the other woman goes behind the register.

this is interesting, because it was the girls who provoked this guy to begin with by hitting him and going after him in the employee area.

the same parallels could be made to that white oklahoma pharmacist who is in prison for killing people who were trying to rob him.

i dont think this guy is going to get the benefit of the doubt though. i think if this guy didnt have such a violent history, the perception would be much different then it has been

What history does he have?

He was completely in the right to defend himself when they attacked him and jumped the counter. The guy probably could have held back on the last few hits though.

Online supporters are hailing the McDonald’s cashier caught on shocking video bashing two patrons who hopped the counter during a fight at the West Village location.

The Rayon McIntosh Defense Fund has been set up on Facebook and is just one of several cyber-support pages.

The 31-year-old worker’s dad is also solidly in his son’s corner.
“You can’t go into a person’s workplace and attack them,” Rayon McIntosh Sr., 54, told The Post. “Let’s be real now -- this was self-defense.”

McIntosh Jr. -- an ex-con who served nearly 11 years for manslaughter, assault and weapons charges -- is caught on tape using a metal rod to beat patrons Denise Darbeau, 24, and Rachel Edwards, 24, breaking Darbeau’s skull and arm and cutting Edwards.

The fight began when the gals cussed McIntosh after he questioned a $50 bill they passed him.

Darbeau slapped him and jumped over the counter as her gal pal jumped into the fray.

McIntosh is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was also fired.

His father plans to order up a good defense layer.
“We will not be railroaded,” he said.

"Problem is the guy has a record, the ladies most likely not, they will be painted as the victims in the circumstances with the injuries involved, he has history of a violent past and unless they can prove the women have one also, he is going to get the short end of the stick after all is said and done.

It will not look favorable that he fractured the one womans arm and skull, there is still excesive force charges that can be laid against him and it will be played out as a man that used a metal bar to beat 2 women who were unarmed and he was uninjured in the end.

Reguardless of the facts, North American society looks unfavorably on men who hit women reguardless of the circumstances and the prosecution will work that also. He had every right to defend himself, but he used bad judgment in striking her in the head as that will be the smoking gun for him.

I do fell bad for the guy, trying to live his life after making a mistake, but in the service industry and any customer service position it is company policy to not engage in any physical confrontation at all, this is how McDonald's will slip away from the lawsuit with a minor settlement and they will seperate themselves from the employee by termination for violating company policy and procedures to increase thier chances of winning any lawsuits brought against them.

interesting how even the news report chose to show the part where the cashier is hitting the women BEFORE they showed the beginning where the women started it.......

His real issue i think is gonna be the "excessive" force he used....they were pretty much subdued and his coworkers trying to stop him and he appears to be out of control and continuing to swing......he had every right to defend himself regardless of his past, but he needed to reign it in at some point, i think.....

10 years in prison for manslaughter. Prison instincts took over after the first animal slapped him. Then both animals went after him, one over the counter and the other around. It was an 8 iron he was bringing the pain with, Tiger could learn something from that swing; look how he keeps his elbows in, legs spread in perfect weight distribution on the follow through.

He had the right to defend himself at first, but excessive force may have been used. It's hard to tell by the footage as we can't see where he's hitting the females and if they are trying to get up to engage him.

The correct procedure would be to attack them until he can detain them while the police are called.

Either way, at least this man had legitimate job - that tells you something about him, that he was trying to turn around his life.

Unfortunately, the women started the fight and it looks like this guy took it too far. Shame on the drunk women...as this guy will never have a chance to have a legitimate job ever again and might go to prison over them behaving like animals.
