Texas -150. Interesting line considering STL has HFA.

Ron Washington is a good coach and a GREAT fit for this team, but STL easily has the better coaching here
Texas should have the stronger bullpen
Texas likely has a little more experience returning most of last year's team and they talk confidently. They learned from last year
Texas should have the bigger bats. Not a wide margin but still the better hitters
STL has HFA which should help.
STL has the better starting pitching.

I am a homer so I dont view this series as clearly as I should. These games should come down to the bullpens and I think Texas has the advantage there....

SP advantage cardinals
BP push... i like motte and rzepshneiezkzieiznii and salas but adams felix and uehera are no slouch either...
Lineup id take pujols/berkman/holliday over hamilton/young/cruz but texas lineup is deeper and better

gonna be a good series i think this one goes 7

Garcia is cards only lefty starter and a cards fan says he won't start on the road. So if that is true, it means cards are starting righties in Arlington. I don't know how many more times I need to tell everybody you can't start righties in Arlington before ppl start believing me.

I wouldnt mind seeing Feldman or Ogando start over Holland but I'm sure Ron will keep his same SP out there and use the bullpen to put out fires, but like TB and Det. Why f*** with a successful formula? Texas SP had been pretty good this season but not showing as much in the playoffs.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. I have watched majority of the Ranger games this year and can attest Texas hits righties HARD. Not only is St. Louis' starting rotation dominated by righties but their bullpen is as well. Cardinal pitching is about to be in a lot of trouble.

Also, like the fact that Texas has three lefty starters going...turns Berkman to his weak side of the plate

I'm a homer but really liking Texas here

yea, i'm a homer too. i posted in another thread the same thing i'm posting now. but there is a recipe to winning in arlington, the main ingrediant is left handed pitching. if you dont have it, your not gonna win much here. the rangers have it, i fully expect colby lewis to pitch in game two in st louis, because colby will get rocked in arlington against the cards. you cannot have a right handed pitcher in arlington when there is a jet stream, i love colby lewis, he is the ultimate team player, but he is on the rangers team for road games, not home games. he is a fly ball pitcher, right handed and that doesnt work out here. dont believe me? check out colby's road era and compare that to his home era.

i dont expect the ranger pitchers to shut down the cards by any stretch of the imagination, but i think they can do what ron washington asks of his pitchers and keep the rangers in every ball game in this series, and if the offense is clicking, they will win easily. the good thing for the rangers against the cards, is as far as i know, the cards dont have any starting pitching thats gonna come out there and try to be a finnesse pitcher. I like edwin jackson, but he will get destroyed if he pitches in arlington. if the rangers lay off carpenters sinker, he will get rocked. if they get in garcia's head, he will get smashed. i dont know anything about lohse so i cant comment there.

Texas all day. Nelly>Albert

errrrrrrrrr....OK no. even homer me can recognize that Albert is one of the best hitters in the game.
maybe Playoff Nelly >= Playoff Albert....but "Poo-Holes" is "the machine" for a reason....

as far as the series goes I'd have to lean Texas slightly but I LOVE the Cardinals in Game #1 with P Carpenter on the mound. The series pitching wise sets up nice for the Cardinals as P Carpenter may be good for three starts but those Texas bats have been something special and the rest of the Cardinals starters can be lit up. I highly doubt pitching will be dominant in this series LOL.

Yours in Winners

Remember ***** St Louis Cards in Game #1 w/P Carpenter on the mound vs P Wilson of Texas
