Couldn't have said it any better myself. I have watched majority of the Ranger games this year and can attest Texas hits righties HARD. Not only is St. Louis' starting rotation dominated by righties but their bullpen is as well. Cardinal pitching is about to be in a lot of trouble.
Also, like the fact that Texas has three lefty starters going...turns Berkman to his weak side of the plate
I'm a homer but really liking Texas here
yea, i'm a homer too. i posted in another thread the same thing i'm posting now. but there is a recipe to winning in arlington, the main ingrediant is left handed pitching. if you dont have it, your not gonna win much here. the rangers have it, i fully expect colby lewis to pitch in game two in st louis, because colby will get rocked in arlington against the cards. you cannot have a right handed pitcher in arlington when there is a jet stream, i love colby lewis, he is the ultimate team player, but he is on the rangers team for road games, not home games. he is a fly ball pitcher, right handed and that doesnt work out here. dont believe me? check out colby's road era and compare that to his home era.
i dont expect the ranger pitchers to shut down the cards by any stretch of the imagination, but i think they can do what ron washington asks of his pitchers and keep the rangers in every ball game in this series, and if the offense is clicking, they will win easily. the good thing for the rangers against the cards, is as far as i know, the cards dont have any starting pitching thats gonna come out there and try to be a finnesse pitcher. I like edwin jackson, but he will get destroyed if he pitches in arlington. if the rangers lay off carpenters sinker, he will get rocked. if they get in garcia's head, he will get smashed. i dont know anything about lohse so i cant comment there.
