How do the Bengals have any leverage here? I know with Campbell going down the Raiders need to do something quick, but surely they could have got him for less?

What am I missing?

He is worth maybe one 2nd round pick at the very most.
Two 1st boarders on the worst trade in NFL history.

Thats a very sharp line.
Too close to call.
If I had to pick a winner I would take ASU but the -3 and the juice makes it a no play.

I do like MTSU this weekend though

This will go down as one of the worst trades in NFL history. There are better QB's available on the waiver wire. With Palmer's contract, I wouldn't have taken him for 'free'. The guy hasn't taken a snap in nearly a year, and he was steaming dogshit then. All you have to do is look at how the Bengals have done without him for evidence.

They were pretty desperate. David Garrard turned them down....i know i cant believe it either but he did.. They were going with A.J. Feeley otherwise, hell they would have been better off just running the wildact..

I can understand the trade if you think that 2011 is a SB year with decent QB play. You take your shot, when you have it in front of you. But I can't imagine even the most optomistic person in the Raider front office REALLY thinks 2011 is a SB year for them.

Im not certain that Palmer is any better then Kyle Boller right now, and Boller is already on the team.

the Raiders are a solid team with a lot of good young players and no QB.

It is pretty hard to get a good QB if your in that spot since your draft pick isn't gonna be good enough to get the really highly touted guy and nobody is gonna trade a QB.

What were they supposed to do just let all of their young talent rookie deals expire and leave? The AFC is weaker than its been in 10 years so they're gonna take a shot. Sure they gaveup a lot but its not a bad move when you consider how wide open the AFC is and that Oak is a team that is pretty solid besides QB.

Umm I would hardly say the AFC is wide open. At best the AFC West is open and even thats iffy with San Diego there. Baltimore looks pretty decent, Pittsburg is still pittsburg and correct me if I'm wrong here isn't there a team from the Boston area thats sort of good. Oh and the Pats already beat the dogshit out of oakland in oakland this year.

This move basically ends Jason Cambells time in Oakland and makes their selection of Terrel Pryor useless. For that kind of money Palmer is your QB for the next 3 years minimum.

And BTW they probably couldve had Kyle Orton for a 4th round pick. I would do that way way way before giving up two 1st for a guy that hasnt been good in 5 years and hasnt played in over a year. Insane
