So the Cardinals have easily the worst record in baseball, yet they host the World Series.........

Does that make sense?

I sort of like the All Star Game rule, but maybe tweek it to where a wildcard team DOES NOT home field advantage no matter what!

Well it used to alternate between leagues which was not a bad idea.

It's a joke that the Cardinals even got into the playoffs and now they host? I hope they lose every game.

The advantage is marginal, IMO. If you think about it, home field advantage only matters if it goes to 7. Texas has home in 3-4-5. Game 5 is always the most important game in a tight series. If it's 3-1 either way, the series is all but over. If it's 2-2, game 5 is ridiculously pivotal.

True. I don't remember a big deal being made about records and homefield when it alternated. That being said, it really should be whoever has best record IMO. Especially since baseball provides some real advantage to being home with unique field dimensions and batting last.

actually, at 56 and 106, Houston *easily* has the worst record in baseball.

The Cardinals actually had the *seventh* best record in baseball.

They were one of the best teams in baseball in september and rolled the top 2 national league teams. on the road. Whats a joke about that. The joke is that the all star game gives the teams home field. Should be record.

20 out of the last 25 teams that hosted game #1 have won the World Series.

HFA should go to the team with the best record.
