I think I'm going to mute the tv so I don't have to listen to Tim McCarver!

I think I would rather hear the American Idol crew call the games on Fox than Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.

Yea Buck is awful too. I hate when they start talking about things and they say the wrong teams and other wrong stuff.

Didn't you always want to watch baseball with an infrared camera so Joe Buck and tell you about white spots of heat?

Because FOX has Buck under contract for mega bucks to do all sports, so they use him to get their moneys worth.

First of all, if commentators are rooting there is a problem. And I hate them both because they like to talk about how long they have been together like an old married couple and they use their "intelligence" to make some of the stupidest comments around. Like to state on national TV that there are 5 letters in strike then say that you spent the whole commercial break counting to figure out there are 6. And that was 1 of many!

That one caught my ear too.
I digested it for 5 seconds, then did the count on the fingers things, and muttered to myself, WTF Tim.

Here is the thing that baffles me about T Mac, if he knocks off the schtick, he can be very, very good, he can, and does bring things to the table, however a lot of it gets lost because of the schtick.

They both know a lot about baseball...but when big games come around they try to make it variety hour on Fox. I can understand dumbing it down from everyday baseball and explaining some thing but keep the subject on baseball.

Case in point, he just went into why you do not pitch inside to a hitter with an open stance and try to jam him.
That is spot on, great baseball analysis, stuff even hardcore fans appreciate, he does that often too, but his brilliant moments get lost in the schtick

I agree, McCarver is such a simpleton. He makes the most ridiculous and irrelevant and inaccurate observations

just brings nothing to the table

Bill my friend, the open stance is totally irrelevant. Once the swing starts, Cruz's hitting position is as solid as anybody's and it's not open at all.

lest you simply pitch him outside and he would bat 000

IMHO, that's little league talk, and a great example of why I think he sucks

but hey, good and smart people can and do disagree

"you don't bunt to tie on the road" LMFAO

his telling people an inaccurate old wives tale and passing it off as legitimate baseball strategy

back to mute

for whatever reason, tv announcers don't bother me, but radio announcers do.
