have watched this show for the first 2 weeks and like it alot....his character is alot like Tim the tool man, however, the rest of show varies quite a bit....he is in a house full of women this time, and they have set up some funny stuff so far.....

Ratings have been pretty good so far, so ABC has to be thrilled as outside of Wednesday comedies, DWTS and Grey's Anatomy, their lineup is a disaster....

Tonight's episode is the Halloween episode, and anyone who watched Home Improvement will remember that the Halloween shows were always great, much like Roseanne on ABC was....they simply went all out every year for the halloween show, and the stuff was funny....certainly hope his new show follows suit....

I like Tim Allen, I have been paying attention.
It is Home Improvement, but with girls.
Good comedy, not great, I give it a B minus.

The new Man Up show that follows is dreadful though.

i'd give it a B+, but mainly because of Allen...he is just better suited to TV than movies i think.....i know he's had some hits with the Santa Clause movies and Christmas with the Kranks, but i think this is just his niche on TV....hope the show makes it....

Roseanne had great halloween episodes. Only caught 1 episode so far of this and it was alrite. Watch Home Improvement occasionally when it is on TV land or nick at nite and it is dreadful. Same premise to every show with the same jokes in a few different situations.

Tim Allen

Tim AllenAKA Timothy Allen Dick

Born: 13-Jun-1953
Birthplace: Denver, CO

Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor, Comic

Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Home Improvement

On 2 October 1978, Tim Allen Dick was arrested in Detroit for possession of a pound and a half of cocaine. Under Michigan law, he could have been sentenced to life in prison. Instead he turned state's evidence -- the legal term for ratting on your cohorts. Allen reportedly fingered at least 21 co-conspirators, and in exchange, he was sentenced to just five years under the more lenient (at that time) federal law. He was paroled after 2½ years, and after dropping his last name, he has become one of America's most successful ex-cons gone legit.

He started doing stand-up on a dare, and honed his "lovable loser with tools" persona after it went over well with a crowd of Goodyear Tire workers. His hit sitcom Home Improvement was built around this stage character, and of course, Allen now has his own line of power tools.

He was arrested for drunk driving in 1997, after he nearly fell over and couldn't count backwards during a roadside sobriety check. The arrest effectively brings Allen's life story full-circle: A drunk driver killed his father when Allen was 11.

Also in 1997, Allen was in an auto accident in Studio City, California, and injured a 72-year-old retired librarian named Henry Armstrong. Armstrong told the National Enquirer that Allen "was bleary-eyed and unsteady on his feet, and he never uttered a word, never mind said sorry." Allen sued the old man for $12 million, complaining that Allen's "business as a well-known and well-respected actor, entertainer, author, commercial spokesperson and product endorser has been damaged." Allen dropped the lawsuit two years later, as a "humanitarian gesture" when he learned that Armstrong was suffering from brain cancer.

Kip Addotta, a friend and comic who mentored Allen through the early years of his career, says Allen "cut all ties with me" as soon as his TV show started.

Ratting out other people, at the first sign of success cutting ties with people who helped you get there....if that's indeed true, maybe he should have kept his last name, seems kind of appropiate :ohno:

Lady Gaga was just as bad, if not worse.

I'm surprised no one has tried to take him out. It's not like he is in hiding. I'd always be looking over my shoulder but I'm a little paranoid by nature.

It sucks...All network TV sucks especially sitcoms. After watching various series from HBO, SHO, AMC and FX and then watching network shows is a huge step back. I guess I'm spoiled.

Agree.. I still like Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia ..and Workaholics on CC is pretty decent for cable..Broke Girls on mondays on ABC is actually not half bad either but thats only one I can think of on network TV 'that aint half-bad'
