season 2 tonight kicks off on discovery channel tonight at 9pm est. This show cracks me up as the set of guys seem so lost with what they are doing, its like a comedy of errors.

Tonight will be good.

I think in this one, the old guy with the white hair who says "no guts no glory" doesn't listen to his son and digs where he wants, and the son throws his hard hat. Also they are running low on money to buy supplies, and near the end, they have to modify a machine they bought used.

I think they are actors, not miners !

This reality TV has gone too far.

It has nothing to do with actual Gold mining, it's about TV viewing.

Like that Storage Wars ( I think it is called)....With the big fat bald white guy ( Ton) and his partner ( top),.....they always make 5X what they paid on a unit.

It's all fake.

thats auction hunters your talking about, i think in the intro they say they only show the good finds or some of it is like a recreation of big scores they had. i never got into the show because of that. i like storage wars more because often times people lose money on the show

Some of Gold Rush is scripted like any reality show these days but the show is still interesting. I honestly don't think they'll mess with the gold count stuff... but I've heard the produces set up confrontations and things of that nature. I'm still watching though.

OK, but those guys aren't even actual storage unit buyers ( So I've read), they are just actors.

Those bumbling fools in Alaska have to be actors, not miners, too !

It's all fake.

you figure discovery has to be paying the miners pretty well or they would have all lost their homes, cars, etc. Im sure they are told to keep it interesting and act like this is really life or death. as sad above, i think the mistakes are genuine and so is the gold search, but arguments and interviews probably staged to an extent

I think this show is good because it's not just a documentary on mining gold, nor is it a completely acted out show.
It's both educational and entertaining.
No way is the old man on the claim next to them an actor.

I agree the reality shows are all fake stuff. Except for deadliest catch. Eye love that show.

My favorite one is the time where they can't catch many crabs, and then a storm comes, and the captain yells, and then they catch a bunch of crabs and the crew are high fiving each other.

I used to watch orange county choppers too. You guys ever see the one where jr gets yelled at by his dad and they almost didn't get the bike built in time?

still kind of a copy of the movie.... "The perfect Storm"

I'm sure these deckhands get variable pay based on the catch and the job is way dangerous and wicked hard work, so it is pretty realistic.

That Ton and his partner ( Alan ?) are not even storage buyers just actors.

Those American picker fags can't drive all over the country buying stuff, too much overhead.

You have tobe more like the pawnstar guys, bring it to me.

You ever watch hard core pawn? It's about a pawn shop in Detroit. It's great.

Swamp people is kinda fun "Choot em, Ah-LIZ-abeth"

I like it when the people scream and yell at the owner and he says "bring it on MUTHER F#@KER", and then he steps back and the bouncer that works for him moves in.

idk how fake hardcore pawn is, ive worked and been friends with a lot of black people whose switch can flip in a matter of moments for no real reason. they might act up trying to get on tv or maybe they are told if they wild out they will be on tv, either way, its still funny to me

ya exactly. It doesnt make for bad television, it's just not as real as one might think.
