This guy risked $10,000 just to win back $1,000 if the Saints beat the lowly St. Louis Rams.
The Rams won 31-21.

Wasn't there something like this on here a few years back when Stanford beat USC? I can't recall the poster, but he got smacked around pretty good when he labeled his USC ML bet over Stanford a "LOCK".

for a bridge or airport bet, wouldnt that really only apply to someone betting ats, i just cant see someone without a lot of cash risking it all for such a little return

i mean if im going to flee from a credit bet, i better be winning more than 1-2 k, gotta be like 20-30k+ to be worth wild

He called it something like paying for dinner.

when will these guys learn. He would of been better served to bet 1,000 a piece on 10 big dogs. Guarentee he wouldnt of lost 10 dimes when it was all said and done.

He should have listened to my S~H~O~C~K~W~A~V~E pick. He could be sitting on $65,000 right now.

The funny thing is, the NFL gives great value on plays like the Rams at home and other teams. People never learn that the NFL is not even close to being like college in the sense that a team from Denton, TX isn't going to Tuscaloosa and winning.

In the NFL, anyone can be gotten any Sunday.

It could be either Post up or credit.

But when you take a 'Bridge Jumper' in Horses, the money is in hand. they find a Horse that's ... let's say 1/9, payout for 3rd place would be like $2.10
Could be a Champion Horse ( Grade 1 ) Top 5-10

They figure well , let me Bet a HUGE amount on a horse like that for Show.
It's a SURE thing ! He's probably going to win, but if i Bet to Show, It's Guaranteed !!

They could take $100,000 bet it to Show and IF it Wins, comes in 2nd or Even 3rd
That's $5,000 GUARANTEED

*Notice I said "IF"

Also, IF you have that kind of Money to lay out.

It Becomes a "Bridge Jumper" Bet when the Horse Finishes OFF THE BOARD

The Board then becomes a Money maker. As a Huge Fav being off the board , makes All the other horses Payouts a nice price.

But the point of the Term Bridge Jumper is, they laid out All that Money ....
On a Sure Thing ;-)

They would 'Jump off a bridge'
