Of course, the Feds first have to allow it, but it's a start.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he’ll vote in favor of letting residents of his state bet legally on sporting events.
At an appearance in Jersey City on Wednesday, the Republican governor said he supports a referendum on next week’s ballot asking voters whether they want to make sports betting legal, if a federal ban on it is ever lifted.
Christie says it’s naïve to think illicit betting isn’t going on. He recounted how a fan came up to him at a New York Giants game, happy that the Giants won, but sad that they didn’t score enough to make his two-team parlay bet a winner.
The governor says it’s time to get sports betting out from the shadows and make it legal. :103631605

fu-king stupid government....giving away billions in potential revenues to the mafia instead of legalizing it IN EVERY STATE IN AMERICA!!

country is fu-king broke, people are gonna find a way to bet just like they are gonna find a way to get drugs....might as well legalize it and tax it....

i like christie he has done a great job in NJ....a lot of people want him to run for pres but he wont....

Can you imagine what USsportsbook.gov could make.

They could deal -105 lines or -103 or whatever

They could allow you to make direct deposits, wires, cash, checks, drop offs in perso, whatever.

They would be able to tax winners.

They could let you consider it investment income and carry over losses.

They would make billions and put a serious dent in offshore action. Who wouldn't use a US Gov book where you knew it was as secure as a bank.

Problem is if they did it, they'd probably deal -130 lines, only allow parlays, etc.

NJ needs to do something. They are losing more and More Customers to other area casinos Opening all around them.

Now that NYC has a Racino at Aqueduct, and it was a Madhouse last week when they opened. NJ needs this.

So does the Whole U.S

I think this will be a Good thing in the long run, but it will take time.

Parlays First, then maybe US Gov Internet Books ??

They would not get anyone to leave offshore for this scenario. I think they would be a sportsbook.ag type book with no over night lines, hardly any prop bets and very few half time lines. It will be the squarest of the square book.
