Not sure if anyone posted anything on this, but the federal government in Canada is close to legalizing betting on single sports events.

Right now you can bet parlays (minimum two events) through provincial lotteries (e.g. Proline).

New Canadian laws would allow sports wagering in border casinos like Caesars Windsor, across the river from Detroit.

Very interesting.

If the US sees bunches of people from Ohio and Mich going windsor to bet, and people from NY going to Niagra, it would make it very tempting for those States to push to allow Sports betting.

I wonder what type of limits a Casino in Canada would have on single games.

Probably would be -120/ -120 or worse odds, though !

watch the election results in NJ Tuesday, where a measure that would authorize sports gambling there is on the ballot. It should pass. If it does, it would give NJ standing to challenge the federal ban in court. It could take years to wind its way thru the system, but some legal scholars have suggested that the current ban could well be overturned.

I'd assume similar -120 or worse pricing if it became legal in the US outside of Nevada.

locals have to be the way to go now !

That sounds great all around. Here's hoping Canada and NJ become the catalysts for more widespread sports gambling!
