LSU put a lock on the top spot, Oklahoma State moved up to No. 2 for the best ranking in school history, and Alabama slipped to No. 4 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll after losing a 1 vs. 2 showdown against the Tigers.

LSU received 59 out of 60 first-place votes after beating the Crimson Tide 9-6 in overtime in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday night.

Oklahoma State moved up one spot after a wild 52-45 victory against Kansas State and Stanford also moved up a spot to third. Alabama slipped two spots Sunday. Boise State remained No. 5 with one first-place vote.

The rest of the top 10 was No. 6 Oregon, followed by Oklahoma, Arkansas, Clemson and Virginia Tech.

I think Jake is the guy that keeps voting Boise St. #1 every week.

Haha I wish I got a vote. Alabama and their 1 top 25 victory wouldn't be ranked over Boise... That's for sure. It's not Coach Pete that is voting for Boise either. Not sure who is...

Shows just how stupid the polls are. If you lose to #1 in overtime you should not drop regardless of your ranking. In most cases you should move up

AP poll means nothing as far as the BCS rankings. Actually Stanford moved up to the # 2 spot behind LSU in the USA today poll which does count towards the BCS standings. Stanford hosts Oregon next week for another titanic game which will give Stanford a inside track if they win.

Well, if you are say #17 and lost by 1 to #2, I can see #17 moving to #13.

Boise people have nothing to complain about ! They play UNLV or someone close to that every week outside of 1 game. Your not in a big enough conference to change that.... I just wish I didn't waste some of my profit betting on them to win it.

I don't care that Alabama lost last night, they are a better team than LSU. They handed that game to them & if they had a capable QB, they would have won by double digits. This LSU team is so overrated it is disgusting. I'd gladly take Stanford, Boise State, Oregon, Alabama & Oklahoma outright without blinking over these guys. Oregon handed them that opening game as well. Oklahoma State my only concern is how pitiful that defense is. Although LSU's offense is so terrible that Oklahoma State putting up 14-17 might be good enough.

I understand you frustration however LSU's QB's didnt play so hot themselves.
IMO a more justifiable argument would be if Alabama had a legit FG kicker they'd of won.

hahaha lsu beats up on oregon then ranked miss st then ranked fla then ranked auburn then ranked wv on the road....goes into bama and beat them and they are overrated? come on man give them some props....they have taken care of business all year long....not many teams can say that...they are the rightful undisputed #1 team and its not debatable....they keep themselves in the game and dont make stupid mistakes...they play better football than the san diego chargers who i bet MNF and they dominated and found a way to lose and i bet today and that cocksucker qb throw 2 pic6 b2b possession....thats the difference between teams like lsu and sd....

i still have grudges over the pats losing the SB to the giants (we were the better team) but i give them their due for beating us that day....they are the champs

if you really believe lsu is overrated you should be making Arky your play of the year when they meet b/c that is a good team with a GOOD offense and they will be 10+ point underdogs

oregon is gonna beat stanford next saturday night and things will get more interesting....

Oregon is the only legit team on that list other than 'Bama. Plus they played Florida without the Gators having a QB... Not saying I'm taking either side of your guy's debate, but LSU has had a dream run of luck. They would lose to Oregon in a rematch IMO and they also got Tennessee in the first game after Bray went down at QB. Auburn and Miss State aren't top 25 teams either... Food for thought.
