Joe Paterno IS the highest official within the athletic department. He should have told the athletic director that if he didn't report it - he would. This guy was molesting kids on a regular basis. [He was molesting kids from his "youth program" - as if their lives aren't crappy enough already].
Pal do yourself a favor and do some research on this. Everytime you make a statement about this you sound more and more clueless. The bottom line is all this testimony was before the Grand Jury last January and Sandusky was seen working out at the Penn State Gym as early as last week. I mean WTF is wrong with all these clowns at Penn State. Unbelievable they would sell out all these innocent kids for Recruits and Money so it doesnt hurt there precious program. How much lower can you stoop?
While my gut feeling is that Joe Pa should step down or be fired, I also feel that we don't really now what the facts are. So many people are eager to rush to judgement. I remember that mess with the Duke lacrosse team a few years back. On the talk radio up here, the accused players were condemned. People were calling in and screaming for blood. Turned out things weren't as they first appeared. Hopefully the facts will emerge, and we'll learn what Joe did or didn't do. If in reality he failed to fulfill his legal or moral resposibilites then yes he needs to be fired and perhaps more.
