He enabled, yes enabled, a child molester to hang around the PSU football facilities until last Week, nine years, yes nine years after the 2002 sodomy incident in that SAME locker room! Former PSU linebacker Paul Posluszny was just on ESPN and said that Sandusky was ever present at the PSU football facilities and the players did work for Sandusky's football camp. The problem is Posluszny did not arrive to PSU until 2003!!! How could Paterno, the HEAD football coach, permit Sandusky to use the PSU football facilities up until last week! That just blows my mind. Are you telling me Paterno did not have the power to ban Sandusky from the PSU football facilities? Additionally, every single former PSU player ESPN keeps bringing on keeps saying the firing is justified!! These are guys who played for him. If you are Posluszny or any other player who played for Paterno after 2002 would you not be pissed that Paterno never banned Sandusky from the PSU facilities but allowed Sandusky to hang around the players and encouraged the players to assist with his football camps! How could Paterno allow this child molester to be treated like one of the PSU football family after the 2002 incident. He should have been fired.

I don't think he should have been fired. He's been an institution at PSU for quite a while, and they should have let him finish the season. For all he's done for that university, they owed that to him. He wasn't the one that sexually assaulted anyone.
It's no different than how the Catholic church protected their people. I just don't understand how they let this Sandusky guy remain on campus after the incident occurred.

No way could or should Paterno have been allowed to finish the season. Penn State as an institution cared much more about trying to sweep this under the rug than they did about young children being abused by Sandusky. I think Joe was in his own little insulated world and never really stopped to think about the fact that by not going to the police he was allowing this horror to continue. There is no excuse for that.
I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Andy would show up with fresh bruises. The Sisters kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.
