I didn't bet this game, but wow, even after the fumble some questionable decisions by Petersen.
I don't understand why they spiked it on 1st down on the last drive?
They had plenty of time to call a timeout with 32 seconds after the FD, then you're left with 1st and 10 at the 25 with one timeout.
Later in that drive, after a safe WR screen pass, on 3rd and 5 at the 20, with 22 seconds left and 1 timeout - Petersen decides to tell Moore to just middle the ball (and lose two yards in the progress) instead of trying to pick up the first down. I'd agree with that startegy if this was the NFL, or you had a kicker who you can depend on, but to put the game in the hands of your unreliable kicker doesn't make much sense to me. If Boise just gained 8-10 more yards the percentages of making the field goal would go up drastically.
Maybe it still wouldn't have worked out, but to essentially sit on the ball and be content on letting the game ride on an unreliable kicker attempting a 39 yd fg, which was by far the most stressful kick of his lifetime doesn't seem like the highest percentage play.
I love Petersen, but was left scratching my head here.
