Sounds like they might.
NBC's Today says FBI may investigate whether Jerry Sandusky brought molestation victim to Outback Bowl in Tampa
In reporting that the FBI and federal prosecutors may open their own investigation into child rape charges against ex-Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky, NBC's Today show revealed one nugget of interest to Tampa Bay audiences:
Among the possible charges is an allegation he brought one boy, known in the Grand Jury documentation as Victim Number Four, to the Outback Bowl in Tampa in 1998 and molested him here. Such a move, if true, would involve crossing state lines to commit a crime in a way that might fall into federal jurisdiction.
A spokeswoman for Tampa police confirmed that the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office has been in touch with federal agencies and local law enforcement regarding any Sandusky connections.
"We have not anyone come forth to spur any type of investigation," said Tampa police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor.
