Specifically infiniti i30 (years 2000-2001).

Been in the market for a used car and trying to stay in the less than 100k miles and under $6,000. Been looking at accords, maximas, jettas, acuras, and infinitis. Ive researched all of these pretty extensively on my used car search over the last 6 months. I finally think i have found a infiniti that I may jump on as I think it is a possible good deal. I just need some opinions from you guys.....

Specs of the car:
year: 2000
model: Infiniti i30
mileage: 82,000 miles
Engine: 3.0L V6, Transmission: AUTO 4SPD
other: Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Bose Stereo System, Cassette Player, CD Player,Leather Interior, Spoiler, alloy wheels, etc.

Recently changed: cv boots, coils, brand new cd player.

Clean title
Clean carfax

Talked to the gentlemen selling the car and his dad just purchased a new car and is trying to sell. He has lowered his original asking price of 5,900 to 5,600 to 5,300. I offered him 4,400 and he said come see the car and we will talk.

Question: Do you feel this would be a good deal on a 2000 infiniti with 82k miles with a clean title and clean carfax? ( i have looked all over ebay and autotrader to try and compare and i am seeing similar cars going for 7-9,000 dollars with similar mileage)

If I purchase, would I encounter lots of fixes or does this car hold up pretty good other than the regular maintenance (i.e. brakes, fluid changes, etc). Any help for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

thanks sooo much

Never make an offer on a used car without seeing it. That is a $4,500 car don't pay a dime more, low miles yes but still an older model vehicle If you like it when you see it take it to your mechanic before you buy it.
