I check their werbsite daily. Last info on the site is that they were approved for stock sale on oct 11. Click on "news" then "Lambeau Field Dev" for info. I own one share of the last offering. If they send me any info [and they might] - I will post it here. Where did you get info re delay? I will see what I can find out. [Incidently, it is the best $200 - or whatever it was - that I ever spent.] I plan to buy another share and one for each of my kids

Not sure that the stock even has a symbol. You can not resell it and, as far as I know, it is not listed on an exchange. You can only sell it back to the team. You can, however, leave it to a relative.

I googled "green bay packer stock sale" on "news" and it says that they will sell over the internet. I know that they would like to start sale before Christmas. One website said that they expected the issue to sell out due to interest in the Packers. I don't think the 1999 issue sold out. Anyway - as soon as I hear something - I will let you know.

The value of the stock does not increase or decrease like other stocks. You can only sell it back to the team for what you paid for it. The value is as a fan - you own a part of an NFL team [no other team is allowed to issue stock on a broad basis - Green Bay is grandfathered in]. I bought it because I live in the L.A. area and was sick of the Rams and Raiders moving, etc. The Packers can never move - they are owned by the stockholders, many of who live in the area. I have my share framed on the wall behind my desk. The Raiders used to come out of the Coliseum tunnel with "Now - YOUR Los Angeles Raiders" [Right before they moved back to Oakland]

If the Packers did that [I don't think that they do] - I would go "Yeah - they are MY packers". [Even with one share]

Just do as google for the DELAY info..............

Have a $200 share from the last offer like you...........there are less than 120,000 shareholders total currently....................plan on purchasing another share this time around.

It's great to be part owner of the best franchise in the NFL!

each year you get entered into a drawing to win vip tickets to sit in the owners box for a game and also get field pass access prior to kickoff

One also has a vote in electing PACKER BOARD MEMBERS...........................the very best thing though is you are actually considered an owner of the franchise.

To many Packer fans, it is far from being worthless.....................love being a shareholder, so much so that I'm planning on buying more shares as noted...........as are thousands and thousands others.

Again, if anyone receives any updates on the next stock offerring, please relay it as soon as possible in this thread.....thanks.

if they issue more shares, aren't the shares you own already worth less? But I guess since you can't sell them, the $value$ doesn't really matter?

Is there a limit to the number of shares they can issue over the course of time?

The shares are not worthless, one can sell them back at their original price..................as far as the limit, not sure............don't believe so becasue some are buying for themselves and grandchildren.

Send an e-mail to stock@packers.com with your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. They will update you per the Packers website. I would still check often at the website though. The Packers intend to sell stock over the internet at their website. I hear that there is a "quiet period" prior to a stock sale, where the seller is not allowed to advertise or comment upon the sale per the SEC. It is kind of silly in this case, but the Pack may have to adhere to this rule - which is why there has not been any real info lately.

My boys and I have shares, and yes, they are just to have them. Pretty unique to proclaim you are part owner of an NFL franchise. One of many things that set the Green Bay Packers apart from all other NFL teams. A great way for the team to raise funds for upgrading Lambeau by adding seating, yet keeping the tradition of the original stadium. A great venue that does not rely on the corporate sales of sky boxes.

Don't think there is any limit to total number of shares. However any one individual cannot own more than 200,000 shares. This is to prevent a person from taking control of the team.

Why would you donate money to a professional sports team so that you can claim that you are a "part-owner?" That's hilarious, Fish. You won't even buy dinner without a coupon, but now you want to buy shares of the Packers that will never pay you a dividend? You are losing your edge, buddy. Go have a beer and hit the match-plays on the Strip.

First off, thanks for the info many provided in this thread thus far.......especaially zip with the email information.

Illini, if the Cards sold stock you would sit in a pup tent for a week in front of Busch Staduim to get shares.........give me a break.

It's not hilarious to own stock in the Packers in the least if one is a Packer fan and supporter(and precisely why I intend to buy more stock soon)...........bought stock back in 1997 and the money helps support the team and its facilities.........not to mention the other benefits listed earlier in this thread.

I can't imagine a real Packer fan not wanting to own stock in the team(the figure of 115,000 or so total shareholders seemed really low to me and anticipate this figure rising quite alot with this new offerring).

By the way, buy many dinners without a coupon or comp............even though I wouldn't need to do such with the comps I've accumulated around the city at many different venues. Speaking of such, the comp sitution in Vegas at the moment is the best I've ever seen it...........led by the Silverton($80 a day in food comp for 18 minutes of video poker), and more than a few other venues that are not far behind(actually some are as they give unlimited RFB for a few days at a time.) I'm still amazed that more people don't play machines on these forums, be it slots or video poker........guess that's a good thing.
