I've always assumed that when you see a big jump in a 2nd half line it's safe to assume that's sharp action causing that jump. The reason I assume this is because I know there are pros that specialize exclusively in 2nd half betting. By a major 2nd half move I'm talking about for example a total that opens up at 20.5 and jumps to 23 within seconds. I'm having second thoughts that this is mostly sharp action moving these lines and maybe in fact it is just square/public action moving the line. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If the good Lord is going to give them to you, you might as well take them.

If one has the time to sit at the computer as NBA games are in progress and during halftimes, you can use halftime stats greatly to your advantage.

Things I immediately look for....

Total shots attempted in the 1st half which could be well above or below average + Shooting percentages can help you determine the pace of the game compared to the toatal halftime points scored, among other things, vs the 2nd half total.

Total fouls at halftime on key players which could equal foul trouble in the 2nd half.

Total rebounds at halftime for each team can reveal which team is truly controlling the game at times, which often continues.
