Christmas Party Ideas

We are having a Christmas party next weekend with friends.

The entire group used to be our party friends but a lot of them calmed down. We are looking ideas to keep people entertained. Like little games, can be drinking games (I know most of the normal drinking games, looking for something more Christmas oriented.

if you have 10+ people, do a white elephant gift exchange... always a good laugh when people start stealing gifts you dont expect people to steal

A white elephant gift exchange is a popular holiday party game found primarily in North America. It has many variations in both the name and the game play. Generally, white elephant parties need a minimum of six participants. With a larger group, game play may be more protracted. White elephant parties have been known to result in intensely vicious and/or playful rivalries between players trying to get sought after gifts. The goal of a white elephant party is usually to entertain rather than to gain. This game is sometimes called a Yankee Swap, Chinese Gift Exchange, Dirty Santa, Thieving Secret Santa, Parcel Pass, Pollyanna, or Christmas Swamp Thing.

I hear those murder mystery parties are fun.

Yankee swap/white elephants are great with just adults. You would obviously have to let everyone know beforehand to bring a gift and not exceed a certain dollar amount.

Its going to turn into a card playing, beer pong playing, shots type of party, but my Wife wants to do some things other than the normal party things..>

We are doing dirty santa..

I am interested in the murder mystery games. Has anyone ever done it? Was it fun or cheesy? I never even heard about it until I saw Micheal Scott doing it on the Office...

How long do they take... What if some people don't want to participate?
