Cowboys go 1-3 rest of the way - they play NYG twice, Phila, TBay. If they go 1-3, they are F'd

Giants go 2-2 rest of the way - they play Wash / Jets / Dallas twice. Splitting w/Dal and losing to Jets is realistic.

Eagles go 4-0 rest of the way - Mia / Dal / Jets / Wash - yes Philly has sucked but winning out is not crazy.

If the above happens...all teams end 8-8. Head to head play (the first tiebreaker) might knock Dallas out out if they lose 2x to NYG. Philly and NYG have already split with each other which leads to the 2nd tie breaker... divisional play. Philly is somehow 3-1 in the division right now and will end 5-1 if they win out. Both Dallas and NYG would lose that tie breaker and Philly would win the NFC East.

I would like to see the odds on that if anyone has them updated. 5dimes is not listing that I can see (right now anyway)

LOL, whats funny about your theory is the fact you have the Giants and Cowboys splitting in your scenerio which must happen if Dallas is to go 1-3. But then you start off by saying the head to head tiebreaker might knock Dallas out if they lose twice to the Giants. Sorry, but you cant have both happen...

That's a good observation, but it doesn't matter if they split or if NYG win both. What's important is that all teams end 8-8. If Dallas loses twice to the NYG then they are the first to get bumped in an 8-8 tie breaker scenario. If on the other hand, NYG and Dal split their games AND all teams end at 8-8... all three teams are tied for the first tie breaker and all three teams go to the 2nd tie breaker which is divisional play. It doesn't matter b/c Philly has that tie breaker all wrapped up... Again... all of this is pending an 8-8 finish for all three teams.

Dec 2010. NYG vs Philly. Just whatever you do... don't kick to DJac - go to overtime, win at home, end of story. Know what I mean Vern? Nothing is guaranteed. I am more confident in Dallas and NYG ending at 8-8 than I am Philly making it there. It isn't an astronomical type scenario... Next week Philly gets one step closer to this happening by winnbing at miami. It won't matter who wins the Dal/NYG game... b/c they are allowed to split.

Vick and Maclin should be back for this 4-0 run they are about to go on.

A NYG win would be best...................took philly 500-1 yesterday to win the NFC.

What will make the task tougher however is that both the Giants and Cowboys have 2 easy teams on their schedule. Dallas plays at Tamba Bay next week and giants play the Skins at home. If both the Giants and Cowboys win those 2 games in which they will be favored in, Philly is toast no matter what.

Not so... they are allowed to go 1-2 the rest of the way in the scenario I described last week. A three way tie of Philly, Dal, and NYG at 8-8 goes to Philly.

Sorry but if both the Giants and the Cowboys win this coming weekend, the Eagles are indeed toast ! Why ? Because if they both win, it's impossible for both of them to go 1-2... They play each other the last week and therefore one of the 2 will go 2-1. You need either Tamba Bay or the skins to pull an upset next weekend !

good pt. my oversight. wash just gave NE a fight wash/NYG is an NFC east battle which is always bloody. My guess is the line is not more than 6. Dallas traveling to TBay is good news in that it's a Sat night primetime game and Tbay is due. Romo is good, but he just seems to find a way to lose the big games or just come up short.

Don't get me wrong, I think the 500/1 to win the NFC is a great wager now that Eagles beat the Dolphins. As a matter of fact, I was over at the Hilton right after the Eagles were clobbering the Dolphins hoping perhaps that the Hilton might be asleep at the wheel a little bit. Redeye and I were both eyeing that prop which was there yesterday. However, the Hilton doesn't make too many blunders so they had it at only 50/1. 50/1 is not a good wager IMHO.500/1 is great value.

If you have the 500/1 wager on the Eagles to win the NFC, I have a suggestion on what I would do to keep my hopes alive one more week. The only way the Eagles can be eliminated this coming weekend would be if both the Cowboys and Giants win this weekend. Of course you already know that the Eagles must win their last 3 games. Why not bet a Money line parlay on the Giants and Cowboys. If you lose your parlay, at least the Eagles are still alive ! If you win your parlay, the Eagles may be toast but at least you have some $$ in your wallet. That being said, if your Eagles lose to the Jets, It's crying time in Philly ! Of course both the Giants and Cowboys will be close to a TD favorite and Eagles are pretty close to a PK game with the Jets. Lots of things have to go right for the Eagles to even make the playoffs and that's why I think 50/1 sucks as odds but 500/1 is worth the risk.

I noticed that the Eagles were 200/1 to win the NFC at Harrahs this morning. It's not a brilliant wager but I simply couldn't resist mainly because I have good profits on most of the other teams and nothing on the Eagles. Most likely the Cowboys and Giants will both win this weekend and I can throw away my Eagles ticket. However if either one of them should lose, my 200/1 ticket is still alive. Of course the Eagles must win their 3 remaining games also.
