Madonna will team up with Cirque du Soleil for her performance at the prestigious 2012 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The only thing that saved last year was watching fergie shake her ass around , somehow i dont think madonna will be able to save it that way.
I bet she turned a lot of cranks back in the 80's.

last year was atrocious... They need artists who can actually perform live, and have the catalog to make people actually care. Madonna has been irrelevant for years now. I'm not really on the pulse as far as current music goes, but i'd rather see allstar groups made up from artists who are from the state the SB is taking place in.

I have a feeling you guys might be surprised this year.....if Madonna is anything, its a "performer"....and i have no doubt that she'll put on a hell of a show......it is kinda sad that Janet and Justin have ruined it for the past few years, the Superbowl is scared to have any young acts in their prime, but i think Madonna is one of the better choices of the past few.......she'll be fine

No performers are likely to provide any significant performance when working with a 20 minute maximum time window.

Blast their two most famous tunes and then medley about another half dozen and then THANKS A LOT SUPER BOWL!!!!!! as they rush off the stage

The select couple thousand dancing fans they prop up in front of the stage is also a pretty tiresome and overworked gimmick

Halftime at the SuperBowl is for refueling the grill, moving the backup bevs from second fridge to main kitchen and getting the bong circulating (clockwise of course)

Only thing that could really make this coming affair notable is if Madonna showed some of that true moxie, brought another notable female singer/dancer on stage and then just did about a ten second embrace and tongue kiss that would have the network censors scrambling

Just pop in a tape of the Springsteen halftime from a couple of years ago. That one will never be topped.

Tom Petty was great imo as well. There have been some really great acts over the years.
